Herman Cain's support appears to be broad and deep, even in Rick Perry's home turf of Texas.
A new University of Texas/Texas Tribune poll show a statistical tie at the top between Cain and Perry, with Texan Ron Paul running 3rd:
Cain got 27 percent to Perry's 26 percent among Texas registered voters who identify themselves as Republicans. U.S. Rep. Ron Paul was next with 12 percent, followed by former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney at 9 percent and former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich at 8 percent. The other Republican primary candidates - Michele Bachmann, Jon Huntsman, Gary Johnson and Rick Santorum - each got 2 percent or less; 11 percent of the respondents answered "don't know," and another 1 percent said they would prefer "another Republican candidate."

Cain got 27 percent to Perry’s 26 percent among Texas registered voters who identify themselves as Republicans.
Interesting results but those independents/non republicans may have something to say about the final outcome.
Registered voters, not likely voters. Hmmm, Hmmm, Hmmm.
Still good to see Romney at 9%.
A University of Iowa poll had Cain at 37% a couple weeks ago. The two latest have him at 21% and 23%
I saw a poll touted widely on FR a couple weeks ago that had Perry at 18% and Cain I believe in the 30's in Texas. Today a new poll comes out essentially tied.
While no one wants to open their eyes, this is a trend and Perry's resurgence will be steady and staying.
This Texan will be voting for Mr Cain...

That’s just got to chap Perrys backside!
A cooked in state university poll and Cain still wins, LOL,
I want to go on record as saying I will heartily endorse either Cain or Perry.
My concern with Perry is his “heartless” remark but he still has time to talk me out of my discomfort.
I like Cain but ponder he’s a flash in the pan, sadly. May I please be wrong.
Spoketh the La Raza Rick disciple...
Cain has been in the lead now for over a month, that’s not a flash in the pan, and once the 1%’ers like Bachmann, Santorum, and co. start dropping out Cains numbers will continue to climb.
Romney is unelectable. He is a Dole or McCain.
May you please be right.
Normy, is that you with your eyes wide open?
LOL, this is TX . Perry should be stronger here than other places. Cain is whipping him elsewhere.
seriously 75% of republicans don’t want anything to do with the liberal Romney. Do you really think Santorum or Bachmann supporters will go to ... Romney after they drop out? not in a million years. The anti Rommey vote will all flock to the strongest viable conservative.
