That head line sounds like an old saturdat night live lead in line, see president ford not fall down at 11:00.
Perry was solid throughout.
Especially when Wallace brought up “less revenue” to the government. Perry correctly told him the government should learn to do with less revenue.
Perry ALWAYS does great in these interviews...wonder why anyone would be shocked with that. Geeezzz...he’s been our Texas Governor for 11 years and done so many interviews you can’t even count them all. IF he was terrible, he’d have never been our Governor this long.
Nothing like a headline like this to inspire confidence in a candidate.
You mean as opposed to his “Drunk Perry” speech?
I guess since Cains Smoking Man video went viral, Perry had to put out his Drunk Man video to try to compete:

When Perry first announced I was very happy about it. When he collapsed, it deeply saddened me and I started looking around at other candidates. I’m having a hard time getting behind Cain but I’ll do it, if it comes down to that.
So stories like this are encouraging... but having been on the roller coaster once, I’m not getting my hopes up too high.
Currently in 7th place.
That’s a hard row to hoe.
Kind of like supporting Duncan Hunter in 2008.
I don’t see what the problem is for Perry if he debates Obama all he has to do is point out the lies when Obama speaks because zero cannot help telling a lie. And Obama is known for his gaffes too guarantee he will say plenty when he starts debating perry or anyone else.
Missed the Fox interview, but on C-span radio this am they were re-playing Perry’s interview with the (NH) Union Leader and he sounded pretty impressive. He made a point of not letting the interviewer gloss over areas where he’s had a problem with the base, i.e., securing the border and in-state tuition. He chose to take those topics head-on, and did very well.
I fully support my Gov. Rick, at this point.
I like Cain too, but I’m not convinced he can really be elected with no political experience. You have to know where the bodies are buried to get anything done.
Too little, and way too late.
But it does show that Fox is SCARED TO DEATH of Cain, since they’re trying to perform life resuscitation on Perry.
When Perry apologizes, I'll listen. Until then, he's still nothing more than a walking gaffe-machine who crumbles under pressure (debates.)
Look, we have to coalesce behind someone other than Romney. That someone has to beat Obama. Therefore, to get what we want, a conservative in the White House, we need someone who is bright, funny, and can think quickly on his feet. We need to get behind Cain! Perry cannot debate Obama. He really can’t even debate Mitt.
I'd like to see that documentation to see the context.
Wallace pushed hard on the phony issue of "income equality" too, his DNC pals will be pleased.
He asked leading question which presupposed absolutely everything the federal gov't does has a dependent class that cannot survive without it.
Journalist's questions should not encode predicates that assume the political opposition's talking-points to be axiomatic. That's not journalism.
Man oh Man, Perry just knocked it right out of the park conservatively speaking when Chris Wallace kept harping about the perceived problem with the federal government having less money to spend with Perry’s flat tax plan, and Perry looked him in the eye and said (something to the effect) that “IT’S TIME WE STOPPED SPENDING SO MUCH MONEY AT THE FEDERAL LEVEL ANYWAY - LET’S BALANCE THE BUDGET AND MAKE SPENDING CUTS”.
And Perry NEVER backed down on that either.
Perry had another homerun with some RBIs when Chris Wallace tried to hedge him into a corner saying the higher earners would have more tax savings than the middle class and lower income workers with Perry’s flat tax plan, and Perry stuck it to him but good saying he (Perry) was NOT going to get into class warfare, that while everyone would be better off, (he acknowledged) the upper income earners, the investors in our society and the makers of our jobs, would be better off and comfortable in their abilities to start investing more in our society and start creating more jobs. Perry would not budge on that principle no matter how much Chris Wallace tried to play the class warfare card on him. Perry fundamentally and expressly emphasized that he was NOT playing into class warfare and was NOT going to apologize for that”
How do you know a candidate is a pataetic loser? When he is so bad that his fans celebrate on the few occasions when he doesn’t screw up.
Time left until smoothsailing's next Perry campaign thread:
18 minutes 45 seconds.
The honesty and loyalty that both Perry and Romeny exhibit for their dangerously stupid ideas, in-state-tuition and RomenyCare respectively, is refreshing.
And very Walter Mondale-like.
I’m watching a rerun right now. I am not impressed. He answers different questions, looks uncomfortable.
And I think he DID make something of a gaff when after letting him go on about how unwise it for the federal government to subsidize private industry he was shown that he supported a federal subsidy for a nuclear plant in taxes.
Abada bada uhhhh, I’ve learned a lot since then.
