Herman Cain, the former Godfathers Pizza CEO, Baptist minister, and Atlanta radio host, continued to gain momentum this week in the Republican primary race.
National polls from Fox News and CBS/New York Times show that Cain is leading Mitt Romney 24 to 20 percent, and 25 to 21 percent, respectively. And according to a new CNN/Time poll, Cain is runner-up to Romney in the first four primary states.
Yet despite Cains epic surge and steady support, political pundits, media elites, and even Sarah Palin have all definitively declared that Cain is not a serious contender, and that his 15 minutes of fame will soon be over. Many are quick to dismiss him as a national joke, a fluke, or the latest quirky tea party candidate.
But Cains critics underestimate how far authenticity a lost trait in todays politicians will take a candidate in 2012. Now more than ever, politics is theater and theres no shortage of performances, put-ons, and puffery on Capitol Hill.
Cain stands apart from the rest. He not only has executive-level business expertise and bold ideas to jump-start the economy, but he is genuine. Voters are won over by Cains straight talk and sincerity.
And speaking of sincerity, Conservatives have long thought President Barack Obama lacks this quality. Lately many on the left have reached the same conclusion. In 2008, Obama was firmly opposed to the Iraq war. He captured the anti-war vote and was elected as the peace president.
Fast forward three years and Obama is fighting wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Libya, and Uganda. He has not only expanded wars putting 33,000 additional troops in Afghanistan but hes also waged a non-war war in Libya without ever bothering to get congressional approval.

But, Palin did no such thing. I heard the interview that this bull tripe is based on and what Palin actually said was that the lamestream press was treating Cain as if he would be another "flavor of the week." What she herself said was complimentary and positive.
Yu are absolutely right and this is hogwash. Sarah Palin has bever once dissed Herman Cin as she HAS others who shall remain nameless. She bever dissed Cain and she never dissed Gingrich.
She was talking about how the MEDIA was creating ‘flavors of the week’ to build them up and tear them down.
Newsmax is getting on my nerves lately.
Huh? IIRC he has never won an election of any kind.
That whole commercial is worth it just to see that smile at the end.

Please show me what I said to make you think I believed what Sarah said? Did you have a bowl of razorblades for dinner tonight?
Sarah said she would run only if someone else didn’t carry the Conservative message...then along came Herman’s rise, and Sarah decided not to run. They are peas in a pod, and Sarah’s gonna be one of Herman’s strongest supporters. And, she didn’t say it. Maybe you feel better for being critical of Sarah for no reason...You probably don’t like strong women.
Please pardon the razorblade stuck between my teeth. I read it as you agreed with the statement. I didn’t understand the wt* notation at the end. It appears you are just as tired of this erroneous reference to her comments as I am.
Even Newsmax is infected, as is FOX. I read a recent article @ Newsmax, and Ruddy had a lip lock on the south end of bubba’s alimentary Canal. Gag me.
Please put me on the Cain ping list, kinattax. Thanks, MM.
I love SP, I really do, but you’ve got to remember that there are fewer people in Alaska who voted for her for governor, than there are people living in my neighborhood here in North Atlanta metroplex. If metro Atlanta were somehow moved to Alaska it would qraduple the population.
SP’s draw isn’t her election to the governorship of Alaska, it’s her inate and genuinely felt conservatism, just like Herman Cain.
LOVE that graphic FRiend, the only thing that could make it funnier would be a dog carrier tied to the roof rack of that station wagon in the background (Mitt-Witt’s contribution to animal abuse and lack of common sense).
I don’t know anything about Cains wife or family...
Please name ONE person elected to the presidency who hadn’t already held a high elective, appointed or military office. Hint: There are none. Will 2012 be the first? Who knows?
Having said that, she was still the elected governor of one of the 50 states. Mr. Cain has never even sat on a town council or county commission. The most complex and difficult election in the world will be his trial by fire. If he’s not nervous, he should be.
I love the heads exploding in RINOland. I've had to print out so many petitions in Illinois it's crazy. I know we have enough but then again, it's Crook County we probably need 15 petitions for every 1 petition!!!
CAIN IS ABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m just saying her experience is negligible at best, although her politics are admirable.
If you had to describe her life experience compared to Cain’s you’d have to admit she was lagging. Cain is a generation older than SP and has high pressure, high stakes, pure business experience behind him, nothing SP has ever done compares to that. The mayor of NYC has 20 times the responsibility than any governor of Alaska.
All,
We need to remember Herman Cain didn’t start as the successful businessman, he started his career as a rocket scientist for the Navy on missile ballistic trajectories analysis.
He understands much of our military capabilities so he is not a total neophyte in terms of foreign policy. He has the Cain Doctrine which is “Peace through Strength with Clarity”. You clarify who your friends are, clarify who your enemies are and YOU STOP GIVING MONEY TO YOUR ENEMIES!”. Then, you let the enemies know that if they attack your friends it will be considered an attack on the United States!
