Huh? IIRC he has never won an election of any kind.

Which is exactly why Herman Cain is surging. The American people are tired of professional politicians with this-number or that-number of elections under their belt. They are ready for someone outside the political class who has a proven record of success to step up and re-establish this great Republic.

Please name ONE person elected to the presidency who hadn’t already held a high elective, appointed or military office. Hint: There are none. Will 2012 be the first? Who knows?

Exactly! I have a home health patient in his early 80’s, intelligent, well-educated and a self-proclaimed moderate/progressive. The other day he asked me what I thought about Mr. Cain. I answered as vaguely as possible because politics are not to be discussed on the job. Then he said something I was amazed to hear. He said that he could vote for Mr. Cain. Said that he was “smart, a businessman and not a politician. We’ve got too many of them in office as it is”.
