President Obama and his team are quite optimistic they will win reelection in 2012, notwithstanding the bad poll numbers he is facing and the absolute collapse of confidence with Washington and indeed the American economy.
There are a number of reasons why the president and his advisers are so optimistic.
First, it is his judgment that with the horse race now tied for president, he has managed to weather the storm of a declining economy and declining confidence much better than he, or frankly most observers, would have expected.

But what heartens the president's advisers is they believe they have locked into a strategy now that they are convinced can and will pay dividends.
First, they have largely given up on trying to work with Congress. With executive orders on housing and student loans, and a new slogan of "We can't wait!" the president and the Democrats are now arguing that gridlock in Washington is almost exclusively the Republicans' fault and that a "do nothing" Congress, whose rating fell as low as 9% in the most recent New York Times poll, and a Republican party whose negative rating is over 71%, will get the lion's share of the blame for inaction and dysfunctionality.
Second, the president looks at the Republican primary field and laughs, as he did on "The Tonight Show" with Jay Leno this week.

And while this is a stretch, the Republicans have not been able to develop any sort of coherent message on either jobs, or on tax or budgetary policy or to distinguish themselves from the extraordinarily low ratings that the Congressional party and their leadership gathers."
Frankly, after the last debate, I can see why Obama thinks he's going to win again.
We are too busy FIGHTING EACH OTHER, to fight Obama and his willing sycophantic mainstream media...
The Dems can get away with OUTRIGHT LYING to the American people without fear of ever being called on it by the mainstream media. Why should he fear losing next year?
Why Obama will win:
Romney GOP nominee
the recipe:
comdrade fdr was reelected in 1936
even after he’d screwed the american people.
Because the media is trying to make us believe that Herman Cain is in the lead, so that we won’t take Mitt too seriously then Mitt winds up being the GOP nominee and conservatives won’t hold their noses and vote for him. I don’t want to vote for him. What’s a conservative to do?
"Gee, our guy is going to lose since everything he's trying to flush this country down the...."
66% of ADULTS oppose the prince’s plan to forgive student loans. He might want to think again.
The entitlement class might be disappointed with Obama (as seen in the latest polls), but they will never vote for a Republican.
As the entitlement class grows, so does Obama’s chances for reelection.
“Whats a conservative to do?”
First and foremost a conservative does not allow a resentment-driven racist and socialist ideologue back into the White House, under any circumstances. We start there and build from there.
The ONLY way the Dems can win in 2012 is to make the election about the Republican Candidate and not Obama’s MISERABLE perforamce and anti-American agenda.
And Obama’s leftist allies in the Press and Romney’s Establishment Allies in the non-Democrat Press (FOX) are doing just that through these “debates” which are merely circular firing squads where Republicans aim at each other instead of the Marxist Menace in the Oval Office. The Media is making the issue about Bachmann, Cain, etc and not about Obama and no one, except perhaps Gingrich, is smart enough to realize it or acknowedge it.
Delusion has always been in Obuggery’s mindset since he took office and he has always been proven wrong. This time his luck has run out.
You vote for the Republican, regardless of who it is, as we have got to get Obama out of office. And you fight for the most conservative senators & representatives possible, in the hope that they will push a RINO president in the right direction (if that’s what we end up with).
At least, that’s what I intend to do.
The issue in November 2012 will be the pocketbook.
If the Obama Admin can keep the seeming appearance of inflation low, they can probably pull out a win. They know they will get massive support from the MSM.
The GOP nominee better have a good game plan. So far, the candidates have been too busy shooting at each other to develop a realistic vision they can sell to the public.
Lot of wishful thinking and taking for granted going on in the White House and Congress. They’re still reeling from last November and are presupposing it can’t happen again if we demagogue republicans enough.
HORSE HOCKEY! This country is wide awake! And we’re working every precinct block.
That choice really sucks. But I guess we do have to get rid of this current bunch of socialists. But geez, Romney?
Vote for the candidate who ends up being the Republican nominee or totally lose your country.
I guess we should just drop trou and take one up the rear for the party again huh... well **** romney. NOT THIS TIME!
LLS
Yeah, another election of picking one stinker over another.
Ummm, isn't that what a primary is for?
When that bus hits the reality wall it’s going to be ugly!
Embracing Occupy Wall Street.
How nice that this "spontaneous movement" just popped up in time to become a central theme of the Obama Re-election Campaign. This seems to me to be one of the great coincidences in the history of the world. Amazingly, the MSM seems not to have noticed.
