47% Of Americans Admit To Owning A Gun
How many gun owners won’t “admit” it in a poll?
What is even better-
Have a friendly chat with the person working behind the counter. 99% chance he/she is a conservative.
You will likely get some anti-Obama comments.
Were the 47%!!!
Best post today! :-)
Welcome to the ranks, Ma’am.
Learn maintenance on them, too. Shooting is only part of it. Learn who they do what they do, how they work, how to keep them clean, and what to do if you get a stoppage (of various types).
My mother carried a SW Model 36 Chief’s Special snubbie for years; my father, WWII Airborne, showed her everything about it. Revolvers are easier to maintain, and she was comfortable with it. She was utterly unafraid to go anywhere, at any time.
Good luck, be safe, and enjoy shooting.
PS: Here in PA, we can buy it and take it home the same day - they do the NICS/PICS check, fill out your paperwork, pay your cash, and have a nice day sir or ma’am. Good system.
“...leaving only Ill. the only state without some form of CC...”
You forgot New Jersey...they SAY they have CCW, but 99% of the time the do NOT issue CCWs.
I believe I saw/read/heard?? somewhere that there were only about 700 CCWs issued in the whole state.
It’s ridiculous, to say the least. Criminal, to deny folks the means to protect themselves.
But then again, ultimately, that IS up to the individual - if obeying the law is more potentially dangerous to your life than disobeying it, that’s a risk that some people WILL take.
My bro is moving there from NY. He says on the weekends all you hear is rounds popping off. Folks practicing or zombie hunting.
Now it’s time to practice. ;-)
Well, its clear from the graphs that the up tick is liberals buying guns, weather that is good or bad I dont know.
It's a good thing. IMHO, YMMV.
It going to get worse for the gun grabbers. On Nov. 1 the Wisconsin CC law goes into effect, leaving only Ill. the only state without some form of CC. Sidearm sales around here have really spiked.
Walmart here (IL) has pocket holsters on the shelf. Walmart! Amazing. (They're cheapies, of course.) You can't tell me that stuff isn't getting used.
Here on New Jersey, we have may issue (when pigs fly). Ditto New York, where even if you do get the county to issue you a license in a rural area, it isn’t recognized in NYC or many suburban locales.
I bought a S&W M&P. 45 and a S&W Sigma. 40. Dont have them yet because of the stupid 7-10 waiting period. My younger son is going to teach me how to shot. I figure I had to survive teaching him how to drive, its the least he can do.
It's only fair.
S&W M&P. 45 and a S&W Sigma. 40
I hear lots of good things about the M&P series. Somewhat less customer satisfaction on the Sigma, on account of its trigger. InterWebz hearsay, YMMV.
Take a class, one that will teach stance, trigger control, sighting, etc. Stock up on magazines. Buy a quality holster (uncle mike's nylon sack is not a good holster), good belt (nothing you buy from a stuffmart will by up to snuff for a holster).
Recently some of the women had a bad experience with some of the Occupy Seattle people. Now my wifes friends have been wanting to arm themselves and wanting us to take them out to the gun club that we belong for an introduction and to help find shooting safety classes. Who says the idiots participating in those Occupy movements arent doing any good?
Seattle? Steer them here (The Firearms Academy of Seattle) and here (Cornered Cat, Kathy Jackson on wimmin and guns).
150 million gun owners dwarfs all the standing armies in the world put together... Woo hoo!
"U! S! A! We're Number One! U! S! A!.."
I guessing that number has never actually gone down?
Good guns last a long time.
OMG...why would anyone want to move TO New Jersey, especially if he’s a gunny?
PA is much, much better and gun friendlier. You can carry CCW (and open in many places) in PA.
RE Zombie Hunting: Seems to be a popular pastime these days...
:-) Bang!
I wish we could get Congress to force reciprocation on all the states. A permit issued in one jurisdiction is valid in all. The citizens in holdout states would be PO’d knowing that visitors are packing when residents can’t!
Agreed.
As of yesterday, these are the states that Wisc. will accept CC permits:
Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands

Note: reciprocity has NOT been defined here.
Since they have a problem with you resisting oppression, that is an inherent admission that said oppression is their goal.
As many have suggested, theyre self-labeling as Progressive really should Oppressive.
But that would mean the left is being truthful and they can never do that.
