U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX), a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee and former state Attorney General, today issued this statement after his amendment to bar taxpayer funds from being used by the Justice Department to conduct gun-walking programs similar to “Fast and Furious” passed with unanimous, bipartisan support in the Senate:

“Today’s bipartisan effort is just the first step towards ensuring that such a foolish operation can never be repeated by our own law enforcement. The onus is now on Attorney General Holder to hear not just today’s bipartisan call for answers, but the American people’s demands that Washington be held accountable.”

The ‘rats know that this can sink the regime, so they’re running to the gunwale and hoping that they can tread water long enough until a miracle happens.

Foolish? How about criminal? Cornyn can always be counted on to pull his punches.

Thing is, these agencies have been transferring money between themselves...which is illegal...so who is going to stop THAT if they decide to continue their agenda?

JUST DO IT!

Since they don’t know how many “gun-walking programs” there are how can they tell if funding is stopped?

It’s not like the DOJ is going to follow the law or anything.

Gun store owners, feds fight in court over new requirement to report sales of multiple rifles

http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/gun-store-owners-feds-fight-in-court-over-new-requirement-to-report-sales-of-multiple-rifles/2011/10/25/gIQAMNlfGM_story.html

Gun store owners in southwestern border states are arguing the federal government cannot require them to report when customers buy multiple high-powered rifles.

The Justice Department argued in court Tuesday that the two-month-old requirement could help stop the flow of guns to Mexican drug cartels. It requires sellers in California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas to give the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives information about purchasers who buy two such weapons within five days.

This is like passing a bill banning the practice of french kissing a light socket. Some things are so stupid that doing them defies all logic and common sense and therefore it goes with out saying.

The ATF has a long history of doing stupid irresponsible crap.
