Lots of buzz about this among political junkies on Twitter tonight, mostly of the so-bad-its-good variety. Is the image of this guy taking a soothing drag on camera after 40 seconds of ad-tastic exertion really that strange and transgressive? Cains campaign is all about unapologetic populist authenticity, and theres nothing more unapologetically, authentically populist than defiantly lighting one up when the mood strikes, politesse be damned. As the man says, Weve run a campaign like nobodys ever seen. If youve got a problem with casual smoking during presidential spots, well, that only proves what an uptight establishment RINO you really are.
In the next spot, Block should have a smoke in one hand and a can of Schlitz in the other. And as the camera pulls back, theres Cain next to him, eating a slice of Godfathers and giving a big thumbs-up.

I'm always surprised to see it done, now, after having watched the body language experts talk about it. Frankly, I don't know anyone, in real life whom I talk with, face to face, who does do that.
Sorry for intruding, but I want to thank both of you for contributing to the above, which is possibly the funniest thing I have ever read on FreeRepublic.
You left out the part that you don’t have a good grasp of the English language and find simple English words “FAGGOTY”.
You are most welcome.
I’m perfectly comfortable here, thanks.
and definitely one of the most codswallopy conversations I've followed in quite a while.
As you well know, I will NEVER vote for Romney, no matter who his VEEP is, should he win the nomination.
This really was the GOPs election to lose and I'm sick over that, considering our field.
I keep watching the debates, reading everything I can about all of those in our field, and nobody is doing well. It's early days and I keep hoping against hope that one of them, just ONE, will rise to the occasion.
"A load of codswallop" is pretty fagotty, nopardons. It might get you mugged if you use it in certain parts of town.
This is not to state that I think you're a homosexual, or even to imply it.
I'm not "upset" over this thing.
I am "upset" at people who refuse to allow others to see valid flaws in in their chosen candidate and love, love LOVE anything he says or does, even when there is a problem.
Okay, this is just a dry run then? Doodlings to figure something out? Then WHY make it public ?
You obviously have an extremely limited vocabulary, and called what a wrote, written in a "FAGGOTY LANGUAGE".
Why are you obsessed with homosexuals?
Do you have a problem, that you are trying to hide?
Are you proud of your abject lack of language skills?
And you can stalk me ( which you have done on this thread ) till the cows come home, you will be the one who suffers; not I.
I'd tell you to "grow up", but you've far too much of that to do, to be able to comply. Is that plain enough, or is the vocabulary I have just used still too "FAGGOTY" for you to comprehend?
That’s because he’s yet to actually get into the campaign!
LOL
this would have been better but too short

I don't think it's so much that folks get overly upset when someone makes an honest criticism of one's candidate - I think it's more when someone is disingenuous enough to pretend to be taking a balanced look at a candidate while - in reality - actively working against that candidate.
Not only is that behavior dis-honest at it's core, but it's a bit trollish, don't you think?
How come you are SO obsessed with homosexuals?
Fess up..........you have a problem. Come on, admit it; you'll feel better and you might even come to the conclusion that having a good vocabulary isn't just for "FAGGOTS".
Was Bill Buckley an homosexual?
How about Thomas Sowell?
Is Newt a "FAGGOT"?
My reply re "working against" was a "joke".*
* Now, evidently they accepted excuse for anything and everything. :-)
It must be because you have superior skills of understanding...in fact, you seem to be able to read minds, since you have contradicted my own statement about my own post; that I was joking when I asked what the word "codswallop" means (even though a second-grader could determine the definition from the context) and then told you that Cain supporters don't speak "faggot."
We see that you are not only the arbiter of what is funny here and what is not...you also determine who is joking and who is not. I am pleased to finally make your acquaintance...but I still don't know what this has to do with the fact that you have stated that you are opposing Herman Cain's campaign, in spite of your concern about how he runs it.
Do you believe that using the word “codswallop” is evidence of a good vocabulary?
