Herman Cain pushed back hard at Karl Rove's recitation of his recent campaign fumbles and miscues - which he presented on a whiteboard on Fox News this morning - and accused the operative of trying to do him intentional damage in a Byron York interview:
"It's a good thing the voters are not looking at Karl Rove's little whiteboard," Cain said in a phone conversation from a stop in Chicago Monday afternoon. "I believe it is a deliberate attempt to damage me because I am not, quote unquote, the establishment choice. But why not go with the choice that the people seem to like?"
Cain accused Rove of bias in favor of candidates with big organizations, lots of money, and prior experience in political office all things Cain doesn't have. "What has Karl Rove done?" Cain continued. "If I become the nominee, he has given Democrats talking points for a commercial to attack me. It makes no sense unless it's a deliberate attempt on his part to try to push me down so that the candidate he wants rises to the top." Continue Reading
When asked which candidate he believes Rove supports, Cain said, "I believe he wants Romney to get it."
Rove strongly denies Cain's charges. "Herman Cain is the one giving the Democrats material for attack ads," Rove said in a phone conversation Monday afternoon. "I want the strongest nominee to emerge from the process. I have no personal favorite. Fox expects me to call balls and strikes as I see them."

Isn’t Rove trying to destroy Perry’s campaign also?
No I am not wrong... and roger ailes and murdoch have shown their true colors... I no longer drink of the fox kool-aid.
LLS
Cain is right. Rove is trying to take down Romney’s competition. I’m a Perry supporter and I don’t like what Rove and the establishment are doing to both Perry and Cain. They need to let the people decide. I think a Perry-Cain ticket would send a powerful message to the establishment, especially after they pulled that Texas race card stunt.
>> “Karl would rather a dem or independent win than a tea partyer.” <<
.
That is a given!
And he cost us more than two senate seats; don’t forget O’Donnell in Dela-Where? and Angle in Nevada.
If all the Tea Party members were to do that, it might work.
Here we go again!
The “establishment” can not tolerate an outsider coming in and shutting down their bird nest. Why that would ruin plans of future “controlled” candidates and might even bring in term limits, and power of the people.

And who is Hannity, but an inarticulate mouthpiece for Rupert Murdoch?
What Rove could not accomplish with the moron W Bush, he will now try to accomplish with Myth Romney, the destruction of conservatism in this country.
You are correct!
I am so....... tired of the Washington “ruling class????” running down any that might change Washington.

Yes, an Obama win! - Perry = Romney = defeat.
“FoxNews...You have it wrong”
No they don’t. I refuse to watch Hannity after watching him shill so much for Giuliani. It was utterly disgusting! It was worse than watching Chris Matthews talk about the leg tingle that Obama gave him!
I have seen Fox refuse to name poll leaders (conservatives no less!), just because it wasn’t their guy. I have seen them declare candidates the leader of the field without a shred of evidence (remember Perry?, Guiuliani?). It was funny watching their chosen crater in the polls, debates and internet consensus.
They should be renamed the EN (Establishment NeoCon) Network.
He told Greta that Cain's numbers had fallen over the abortion flap and he used Real Clear Politics as his source. I've been watching the RCP polling for weeks and Cain's number have not fallen as Rove described.
Greta allowed it to go unchallenged because she didn't know any better but I knew when Rove said it, he was lying.
He sure isn’t helping any.
Everyone knows that Karl Rove is the smartest person in America. But, I can’t understand why he never learned that the name of the city housing our Nation’s Capitol is the city of Washington; not Warshington.
Sorry, I was thinking O’Donnell from Delaware, not CT.
See PC people and Mac people can agree on important things, {:-)
Why would 1st place Herman Cain want to be VP for 4th place Rick Perry?
