Two senior Republican lawmakers lambasted the Justice Department on Thursday for its false denials in the Fast and Furious gunrunning operation, demanding that the FBI turn over documents in its ongoing probe into the shooting death by Mexican bandits of a U.S. Border Patrol agent.
In a seven-page letter to FBI Director Robert S. Mueller III, Rep. Darrell E. Issa of California and Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa said the lack of answers being given to Border Patrol Agent Brian A. Terrys family concerning his Dec. 14 killing and the delay in bringing those responsible to justice only compounds their anguish.
After 10 months of FBI investigation, Agent Terrys family and the American public deserve to know more about the status of the inquiry, the state of the evidence, and any connections to Operation Fast and Furious, they wrote.
Two AK-47 assault weapons purchased at a Glendale, Ariz., gun shop as a part of the Fast and Furious operation were found at the killing site located just north of the U.S.-Mexico border near Nogales, Ariz.
But Mr. Issa, chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, and Mr. Grassley, ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, noted that neither the search-warrant affidavit nor an unsealed indictment in the case described the total number of guns recovered at the scene.
They said that based on the limited information officially released about the circumstances, it appeared that the illegal immigrants who shot at Terry may have been armed with a total of five rifles.
We know that two Fast and Furious rifles were part of a lot of three, all purchased at the same time over a year earlier, they said. These circumstances naturally raise questions regarding the whereabouts of that third Fast and Furious gun, whether the other firearms

This is shameful.
Bump. This story seems to get lost amid the OWS and candidate posts, as does the Solyndra news.
“...are going to end up looking bad...”

Already do.
We are fairly sure the third weapon is an SKS.
It has been mentioned and not mentioned on the list.
I am beginning to suspect it is traced to another program we do not know about that was run out of Texas.
I suspect they are hiding the information to prevent the scope of this insanity is never revealed.....that this was a program across multiple states, multiple BATFE Districts and many thousands of firearms.
They can’t prevent it from being revealed. One huge smoking gun of interagency conspiracy is the FBI’s collusion in subverting the national instant background check, in order to permit known felons to purchase weapons under F&F. Robert Mueller is up to his neck in this. If he doesn’t pull a John Dean, he will be sharing a prison cell with Holder.
Saturday Round Up Ping 2! It’s a Blast!
More coming.
I dont know why all the mystery, just have reporters go talk to the first responders at the murder scene, Border Patrol Agents, Arizona Law Enforcement, Medical crews. Get the audio tapes of the incident. I wouldnt be surprised if some officer didnt have a cell phone photo of the weapons at the scene, maybe they will turn up after more people are put under oath? The FBI was highly unlikely to be first responders at the scene unless they were tracking their guy...that in itself would be damning.
Not giving information about the number and type of weapons used in a murder because its an ongoing investigation is baloney. It is subject to discovery by the defense and in fact is required to be turned over to the defense. Anyone talk to the defense counsel? They better be demanding all evidence in the case if they dont have it already.
THREE BANDITS AND ONLY TWO WEAPONS FOUND? WHICH BANDIT DIDN’T HAVE A STINKING BADGE OR GUN?
All of those LEOs would tell the reporter the same thing: “I am forbidden from discussing anything about the case while the IG investigation is going on.”
And of course, the IGI is part of the coverup, the woman running it is one of Holder’s sychophants.
Your diligence in pinging is much appreciate. It’s NOT going away! no no no.
