Actually you had better read some more. According to the article he was filming the insides of tents without permission, sounds like breaking and entering to me. Yep, the occupiers are jerks but they still have the right to protect their property. Why was he filming? Planing a little burglary later on with some of his pals, scoping out the goods so he would know which tent to target? I expect sooner or later there will be some real violence at one or more of these protests.

Filming the inside of tents is legal as long as he does not enter. Same thing as standing on a sidewalk and filming through the front window. Nothing wrong with it as long as you do not enter the property. The park is public and the public (including the armed citizen) is allowed to walk through it, filming or otherwise.

Illegally occupying a space ILLEGALLY DOES NOT render it private property.

"Why was he filming?"

To catch the drug inducing freaks in actions?

He had a permit to CCW. Most "perps" don't get that right.

Okie dokie, calex59. You want to pick a fight with me? No problem, Buckwheat. Let me address 2 of your idiotic assumtions.

“...filming the insides of tents without permission, sounds like breaking and entering to me.”

Perhaps, but then again, isn’t that what these protests are all about, re-distribution of wealth? Perhaps you need to quit making assumptions about the motives and intentions of other people. Besides, how is looking/filming inside a tent “breaking and entering”?

Perhaps the tent flaps were open and the interior of the tents were exposed which allowed him to film without entering. There is nothing in the story that suggests he was arrested for “breaking and entering”. Rather, the story focuses on the fact that he had a gun. That’s it. And on that subject, he only displayed it when threatened with knives by the protesters. You made a big leap in your reasoning without anything to support it, which makes me curious as to why you assume he was attempting to committ theft. Is it because he’s a black man?

“I expect sooner or later there will be some real violence at one or more of these protests.”

And thus, the reason any prudent person should bring a gun with them if they plan on being in the vicinity of one of these protests.

Having said that, I believe YOU need to stop making baseless assumption and then go back and do some more reading.

Ernie
