Col. Moammar Gadhafi, the dictator who ruled Libya for 42 years, was killed by rebels in his hometown of Sirte on Thursday. A dictator who oppressed his own people and sponsored terrorism abroad, Gadhafi's legacy will be stained by violence. But beyond his brutality, Gadhafi will be remembered for something else entirely being a first-class weirdo.
In no particular order, ABCNews.com brings you the seven weirdest things about Moammar Gadhafi.

That outfit look like something mooooooochele would be proud too wear.
Now, at long last, when death has removed the need for further secrecy, I am free to reveal that Col. Muammar Ghaddafi (note correct spelling) was a member of the team (of which I was honored to be a member, albeit of inferior rank)that was led by Lt.J.G. John F. Kerry on that cold Christmas Eve long ago.
Stripped naked, except for the Rambo-Head-Scarf (designed by Sylvester Stallone while on a secret mission of his own at Le Rosey Prep School in ostensibly neutral Switzerland), with 14-inch Kabars firmly clenched in our teeth, we went into action, silently dog-paddling up the Mekong, 300 miles into Cambodia. Soon-to-be-President Nixon had issued the top secret orders to our valiant Lt. Kerry and the then secret-Ensign Ghadaffi. I personally held the flashlight while they nervously worked out the details using their Captain Cody Decoder Rings.
We took prisoners and decimated a nest of NAZI spies. (C'est un autre conte as Lt. Kerry was wont to say) When we returned we were decorated by Lt. Kerry. I received The Merit Badge for Water Sports and a Scholarship to Philmont BS Ranch, and Lt. Kerry and the then Ens. Ghaddaffi (note spelling) gave each other the Cloud Banner with 1000 White Elephants, The Croix de Guerre avec Palme (of course), The Congressional Medal of Honor, The Pour le Merité with Ritterkreuz and Diamonds, several Purple Hearts, The Victoria Cross, The Norwegian Lifesaving Medal of Gold, La Croce Militare, The Order of the Golden Fleece, and made each other Knights of the Garter, and The Round Table.
Many of you members of the VRWC tend to pooh-pooh the military accomplishments of Lt. Kerry. Now I can come out (so to speak) and reveal the truth. That is because I, and then secret Ens. Ghaddaffi, USN (note alternate spelling), were there. Those medals on the Ghadafi's (note alternate spelling) were not given for a bun-fight at the Mess of Princess Patricia's Rifles, my friend. NS.
Glad I could set the record straight. No need to reply. Although my ex-CO, Lt. Kerry, surely would appreciate a letter of apology for the outrageous slurs against his valiant record posted so frequently at this site. IMHO, he deserves a medal for long-suffering.
I saw the same thing. It reminds me, in fact, of the killing of Imre Nagy, Premier of Hungary, in 1956. Powerful neighbours doing over a small country - lots of killing - lots of rhetoric about liberation - that's the Communist style.
There was an interview several months ago with a Jewish woman in Israel who had come from Libya...she said she was his cousin on his mother’s side. Her story seemed to hold together.
So he was Jewish then.
Well, I don’t think HE thought of himself like that...LOL!
