A trial would have either been superfluous (a show trial) or a travesty (he's released or escapes).
I disagree with him too insofar as “a trial”. Gadaffi was a military man. He knew the stakes. I also take issue with the overuse of the word “celebrate”. Most in libya are probably just relieve that son of a bitch is assuming room temperature and can’t order more tortures/disapearances.
