True enough, Elsie, but we have seen a parade of candidates rise and fall as they came on the scene and then after vetting in the debates. Romney has remained almost frozen at his 25%.

Inside the Republican Party, the vast majority of sentiment is "anybody but Romney," which is why each new entrant has experienced a Mercurial rise in the polls. The problem is each is flawed and each has experienced a Mercurial fall as those failings became apparent. Romney may simply wind up being the survivor that no one wants but who fills the empty slot.

The good news is that Bachmann put on a great performance in this last debate as has Newt in all of them. Perry FINALLY demonstrated some life--if in a somewhat dubious manner--and Cain survived his first real all-out attack.

I'm not four-square in the Cain camp; he has some definite problems yet to be dealt with--9-9-9 is not what it was claimed to be, he is paying his own company for a booklet out of his campaign coffers and thus enriching himself--which while not illegal, certainly is of questionable ethical standards, his knowledge of and understanding of how to deal with foreign affairs and foreign policy are well short of acceptable so far--so I expect him to fade back into the crowd.

In the end, I do not want Romney, but I will support him over Obama, Mormon or not. He's a liberal, but he is not hell bent on destroying our nation the way Obama is.

I'm beginning to think in the end, it may very well be Newt, warts and all, that becomes the choice of the "Anyone But Romney" crowd.

Oh boy!

That's kinda like taking your boxer pup to the vet to get his tail docked; and the vet recommends taking it off a joint at a time every couple of months so it won't hurt as much.

I do NOT want to die of a thousand paper cuts!

Lop off my head and get it OVER with!

I do not want XXXXX, but I will support him over XXX, ZZZZ or not.

This has been the same mantra since Reagan died. Will we never Learn? The lesser of two evils, nevertheless yields more evil.

It is easy to focus our displeasure on the current occupant of the White House, but we must recall that with the Presidency and both Houses in Republican hands we spent money like their was no end. We did not close the borders, In fact GW did his best to open the borders to Mexican trucking. Same with selling a port to the enemy. We did not drill Anwar, the EPA, FDA, DOE all went untouched. GW refused to pick up the Veto pen until it was already too late.

But he was better than Gore.

As that great philosopher once said, Pogo we have met the enemy, and he is us.
