I guess. I am Israeli and was certainly there in 1977.
The concern comes because I’m a Cohen and a Hasid — I’ve been near the edges of the top of mount where our Rabbi said was OK, but candidly would be deeply concerned about wandering around up there.
That said, I’m also an engineer (aeronautical) and of the mind that the Temple needs to be rebuilt (opinions differ greatly on when this would be appropriate), and that would necessitate wandering around, to some degree.
I believe the Temple will descend from heaven when it’s time, and that we only have to build the gates. But I define building gates somewhat loosely to include asserting our rights there, ending the tyranny of the Waqf. Never been to the Mount myself, though.
