David Axlerod took a swing at Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain Monday, saying that he thought Cain’s 9-9-9 proposal would hurt the poor and the middle class.
The senior Obama adviser called Cain an “intruiging personality” on “Morning Joe,” but took a shot at the Republican candidate’s tax proposal, saying, “I think his plan deserves scrunity … I don’t think it’s good for most Americans.”
“I think you’ve got to add the 9-9-9 up, get to 27 percent, and that’s probably what poor and middle-class people will end up paying once the thing is implemented,” Axlerod said.
Despite the attention suddenly being heaped on the former Godfather’s Pizza CEO, Axelrod said Cain was not going to be a top-tier contender in the 2012 election.
“I think, when you look at the resources and when you look at the standing, that Perry and Romney are likely to be duking it out at some point here,” said Axlerod.

Ax should do a little reading before opening his piehole. One of he 9s is a BUSINESS TAX. It'll be a cold day in hell when poor people are paying that....especially under this business hostile admin.
He also is probably parroting the talking point about it raising taxes on certain individuals. He'll say that, but neglect to mention they pay ZERO federal tax now. Asking for 9% isn't much.

Cain as the GOP nominee will gut the Democratic party like a dead fish. They will try to use racism, but it will be absurd. A few on the far left have already floated these stupidities like “Cain is favored by racists to prove they aren’t racist”.
The left will then try to “redefine” racism. If Cain wins the nomination you will see. They will say racism isn’t just about color, it is about hurting the poor and needy and elderly etc... But those attempts to redefine racism will fall flat.
Though on their own, the attempts to spear Cain might get traction if Cain and the GOP can’t defend 999 as a solid plan that won’t hurt the poor or elderly.
But what we need more than anything is someone like Cain who comes out of nowhere and earns a mandate that will shake DC to its core. We need Congress to fear the American people and Cain with a big mandate is the only way to do that. 999 has a chance, if Congress comes to understand they have no choice.
If Cain wins the nomination and then chooses Allen West as his running mate, we'll really get to see liberal heads explode. It will be fun!
Most people don't know about this, but there are thousands of "non-profits" in every state, existing solely off the taxpayers. Most "non-profit" CEOs making six figures.
These government "non-profits" exist in the shadows of the DHHS and Depts of Education.

Other than showing that he can add three 9s up and get an answer what does this comment mean. First, the 9% individual rate includes replacement of the existing individual tax rates and (this is important) federal payroll taxes. For the poorest, this is almost a wash since the working poor pay FICA taxes on their earnings. There is the EIC that would have to be factored in but Axlerod claiming that poor people would wind up paying 27% is deceitful. No time to discuss the dynamics of the other two 9%’s in his plan but there are tradeoffs so no way it is a 27% tax on the poor. I think this is another part of the class warfare knowing that the uneducated and undereducated don’t understand economics. I’m continually amazed how little educated young people are regarding economic behavior. With older adults like Axelrod doing the “educating” no wonder that’s the case.
