As i said earlier, let’s find out what the man is talking about before we jump all over it.

I’m still not sure what it means.

You might work for a living, but you sure don’t shop smart! :)

(That’s my full-time job)

“You are, in effect, upset because you don’t want to SEE the taxes that you ALREADY pay.”

And you are extremely naive to believe that everyone will automatically drop the price of their goods because those “hidden” taxes will be removed. You’ve got to be kidding. The prices will stay the same, and I’ll eat a plugged nickle (which is all I will have left if 9-9-9 is implemented, which it never will be) if prices of commodities would actually drop because of Cain’s plan.

Guess you just don’t know human nature very well, lol. But I admire your optimism. Oh, and it will be great when 9-9-9 becomes 15-15-15, etc., and because it will be done incrementally, 1 percent at a time, the frog won’t even feel the water getting warmer and warmer while sitting in the pot, until it’s too late to jump out.

“Well whatever you do, vote with your own wallet, rather than what’s good for the COUNTRY.”

It wouldn’t be good for the country, only in your mind.

So funny Clairity!

Yesterday I happened to notice someone was absolutely sure you were Anita Perry, and now tonight someone is sure you are a Romneybot!

I know, you are Larry and you have two other brothers, Darryl and your other brother named Darryl! :)

Milk is up. Coffee is up. meat is up. butter is up. Corn is up. pretty much everything is up but food especially is up which is what really makes this 999 plan “unpalatable” as it will raise food prices even more. Food is the only thing that some people buy so it really seems like just a new way to squeeze blood from the turnips. If he budged on that, I might be more receptive but he said he wouldn’t. electronic prices are affected by Moore’s law, btw, which does reduce the prices of some electronics (TVs and computers most notably) but not all. My iPhine retails for about $800 for instance. Could you have imagined an $800 telephone 5 years ago? 10 years ago? Chicken, btw, is up too. and I just paid $60 for two decent name brand polo shirts. Wal mart is the biggest deflationary force in America but their prices are reflected in the quality of their goods. You got what you paid for so you didn’t really pay less, you just got less.

The Cook Report: Bird in the Hand
GOP primary voters could choose the next president, if only they can make their peace with the front-runner.

***Yes, Cain may prevent Perry from getting the nomination, ensuring that Romney does. Great job!***

I have seen a lot of Perry people make that same statement...but that dog don't hunt...

“And you are extremely naive to believe that everyone will automatically drop the price of their goods because those “hidden” taxes will be removed. “

You are RIGHT! Companies will NOT drop prices just because their tax burden is eased.

“Guess you just don’t know human nature very well, lol. “

I know human nature very well. I know that some sneaky b@stard will lower their prices to grab the market share and force other to do the same to compete. IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME.

“Oh, and it will be great when 9-9-9 becomes 15-15-15, etc., and because it will be done incrementally, 1 percent at a time, the frog won’t even feel the water getting warmer and warmer while sitting in the pot, until it’s too late to jump out.”

Yeah, RIGHT! I guess *you* don’t even recognize your *own* nature very well. People like you and me will be screaming our heads off.

As it’s the liberals who tend to raise taxes, it’ll be liberal politicians taking the heat.

“LIBERALS WANT TO STARVE GRANDMA!!” the headlines will scream.

Been on SS for quite a while, to say seniors will be hit hard, I don’t care, and I don’t fear such a statement of opinion Cain is the only one I would vote for so far...

I’m like a geek about monitoring grocery prices Marie. It’s like a freaking pass time for me. I swear. Prices are up and going up. There was a period of deflation (back around 2007 I think it was) when butter was $2lb. It’s $3.50 now. Milk was $1.88/gal at the same time. it’s approaching $3/gal now. I earn more money now than I ever have but I feel no richer really. That’s stagflation. I think we have stagflation for a number of reasons and I’m not yet convinced that 999 truly addresses those problems. I think it’s more likely that it exacerbates them. As a conservative, I have been railing for decreased government spending and decreased taxes. I don’t remember ever yelling for a new federal sales tax.

You are buying BRANDS, not things. You can get a great smart phone for a LOT less than $800. Hubby and I went shopping at Walmart for an ENTIRE business-casual wardrobe and spent less than $300 for 6 complete outfits. (Including shoes, socks and undies) He looks awesome. (The only downside is that he sometimes bumps into another guy wearing the same shirt or tie. They laugh it off and blame their wives.)

This is like a guy who insists on buying brand-new Harleys complaining about the price of motorcycles.

I could easily spend $10,000 on one evening gown.

But I don’t.

Because that’s stupid.

My daughter went wedding dress shopping and was giggling her head off at the $5000-20,000 dresses. Her entire wedding won’t cost $5000 (including the rings, cake, pictures and the dress)

Don’t blame the free market because you don’t know how to shop with a frugal nature. That’s on you brother.

Have you even looked at Goodwill? You can get name-brand clothes at 1/10th of the price.

($60 for a freakin’ shirt. That’s insane.)

Now why is food up?

Food is up because of bad weather and Chinese pigs.

The chinese economy is growing. there is an increased demand for pigs. that gives an increased demand on corn. the rise in corn increases the price of pigs, chickens and beef in the US.

Wheat has been having a bad time because of weather. Drought, floods and blight.

Out growing China will help with the corn issue. (Killing ethanol subsidies will help more)

There’s not too much that can be done about wheat. Prayer?

time for bed!

“Yeah, RIGHT! I guess *you* don’t even recognize your *own* nature very well. People like you and me will be screaming our heads off.”

We indeed scream our heads off already, but Congress and the WH go right ahead and raise our taxes anyway, just like the Obama Admin has done with Obamacare. All you need is complete control of the house, the senate, and the WH and voila, you have raised taxes, which is exactly what happened. Sometimes you can scream and be heard, other times, you are stuck for at least 4 years with what becomes institutionalized tax increases. And at some tipping point, just like in Venezuela, with Hugo Chavez, the population will back any soak the rich taxes that the dictator in chief comes up with, out of ignorance, and redistribution of wealth programs that benefit them. This next election will give us some indication of whether we have reached that tipping point yet or not. Hopefully not, and we still will have some time left, before it is too late.
