I always refer people to the Aztecs and Mayans as examples of the peaceful Native Americans. It is ignorant to think that war and violence was an invention of Europe.

If even today, we met the Mayans, and Aztecs,,,and watched their slavery and human sacrifice,,,, wouldn’t we do our best to wipe them out or replace their culture with ours? It seems like a moral imperative to wipe out such a culture.

Left untouched,,the Aztecs would AT BEST evolve into a culture like the Cartels, Muslims, or gangs in Brazil.

Wheeling WV comes from either an Algonquian or Iroquoian word for “place of the killing, or scalping or skinning or murdered horribly” implication is always that it was people who were killed. I have seen it explained using all those meanings. Clearly its a place where a lot of people died badly! The natives called it that before the whites ever showed up. So who died then, had to be natives killing natives. The were annihilated completely by the Iroquois.
