Probably so but a third party would assure 0 another win. There isn't enough backing for a third party IMO, unless you know there is.

Romney is stuck at 23% in the primary. He was stuck at about the same level in the 2008 primary. That's about all he is going to get, either in the primary or in the general election.
The liberal/moderate/commie wing of the Republican Party make up less than 25% of registered Republicans. More than 75% of us registered Republicans are conservative, and therefore against Romney (and every other RINO the establishment trots out to test the waters).
Now about those Independents: the 2010 election proved that the majority of Independents are conservative, more conservative than most Republicans, and they came out to vote in droves for conservative TEA Party candidates.
These conservative Independents outnumber the entire number of registered Republicans, and these conservative Independents combined with the 75% of conservative Republicans outnumber the liberal/moderate/commie wing of the Republican Party six to one, or 86% conservatives against 14% RINO vote.
In other words, the RINO mouthpieces gracing the daily talk shows represent only 14% of the general election vote, only slightly larger than the 10% to 12% represented by black voters who vote overwhelmingly for Democrats.
The only power the RINOs have is the power of the mainstream media, which they have used successfully for decades to convince conservatives that we must vote for the liberal/moderate/commie RINO of their choosing.
NO MORE! Never again! We will not vote for Romney or any other RINO!
We will have a conservative nominee, or the GOP will disappear in the dustbin of history along with the Whigs.
