I’m 64. It will affect me only if I buy big-ticket items. If I have the money to buy the big-ticket items, the 9% is statistical noise.

I'm almost 64. I usually don't buy big-ticket items. Food and gas (I live in the boonies) are my 'big-ticket' items each month. I was under the impression that everything, including food, would be taxed. That would hurt me.
