Washington (CNN) -- President Barack Obama is sending about 100 U.S. troops to Africa to help hunt down the leaders of the notoriously violent Lord's Resistance Army in and around Uganda.
"I have authorized a small number of combat-equipped U.S. forces to deploy to central Africa to provide assistance to regional forces that are working toward the removal of Joseph Kony from the battlefield," Obama said in letter sent Friday to House Speaker John Boehner and Daniel Inouye, the president pro tempore of the Senate. Kony is the head of the Lord's Resistance Army.

Mr Integrity.
Very suspicious.
And yet no troops for our borders or to chase drug cartels, which would benefit both the US and Mexican citizens.
Can someone please stop this idiot?
Two undeclared wars and not ONE Conservative Congresscritter willing to stand up to this?
Obama must have heard the guy is gay and wants to invite him to the white house for a personal tour. Clintons stole the Whitehouse silverware but Obama is making us a laughing stock.
Two words of explanation:
Raila Odinga
Don’t tell me Obazo has some more African third cousins six times removed! We already have enough of his African relatives on the taxpayers back!
Africa is so much better off after the Europeans left. Uganda was a British colony. Well run, stable and rich.
the whites left, Amin took power and started running amok.
He was giving aid and comfort to Islamic terrorists{ Entebbe airport} and then started to eat his enemies.
Now the whole country, like Africa itself, has decended into chaos. And now Obama wants to put troops in harms way to help another crackpot kill another crackpot.
We have to throw this bum out. Time to air out the Whitehouse and put adults in charge again.
Troops to Uganda, no troops on the Mexican border. Protecting the American public, nice. Our community organizer and chief lookin out for us. Oh thats right they helped supply the drug cartel with weapons this would not be good for relations.
Didn't Clinton authorize a similar manhunt for a warlord in Somalia? IIRC, that did not turn out well.
The Coptic Christians are getting slaughtered in Egypt due to Springtime for Hitler (Arab Spring). The Great Emperor Obama gazes towards Egypt, and with his mighty stare he demands that the Coptic Christians calm down. Now instead of sending troops to prevent the slaughter of Coptic Christians in North Africa, The Great Emperor sends his mighty troops into Central Africa with strict orders to actually slaughter a rebel Christian Leader.
Obviously that is why he is the Great Emperor Obama !
He’s like a 5 year old boy playing with green plastic army men...
This reminds me of Bill Clinton backing Ben Lauden’s KLA in Kosovo.
Well you are now going into four countries, does that count as four more wars?
Uganda, South Sudan, the Central African Republic and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
"Our forces will provide information, advice and assistance to select partner nation forces," he said. "Subject to the approval of each respective host nation, elements of these U.S. forces will deploy into Uganda, South Sudan, the Central African Republic and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The support provided by U.S. forces will enhance regional efforts against the LRA. "
Not if they are our fellow citizens. In that case they will simply be assassinated from the air.
Isn’t the Lord’s Resistance army fighting the Moslems? Not that they’re spotless, but.....
Sad, but true.
