Newt? Santorum? I mean, what the hell?

Did someone say Santorum?

He looks better everyday doesn't he?

Ha! I meant to ping you earlier (Hold on, since yer up, lemme pour one more glass of 'juice').

Ok. I praised Santorum today. As you may know, I'm on the damn warpath about this freakin' sales tax nonsense. I mean I'm a damn berserker about it. I'm afraid it will culminate in an FR time-out, but (knock on formica)so far so good.

I said before the debate that I would give credit to whoever aggressively attacked 9-9-9. I didn't care who did it. I just wanted to see someone talk some damn sense about it.

And your boy Santorum delivered. In spades. He did it with relish. There was derision in his voice. He pounded Cain on it. I was very happy to see it. So kudos to your boy. He did a fine job, and one that needs doing. I hope he keeps up that line of attack.

I know a few folks like yourself laughed at my theory that Santorum could out last the flavor of the months long enough to be that last real Conservative standing against Mittens. He would beet him handily if he had a higher profile. He is a fighter.

I see your point on the nat’l sales tax. That is going to be a real problem for Cain if he can’t explain how it won’t end up like a 25% tax in the future. It’s going to be a big issue.

He wants to transition to the "Fair" tax, which is 33%. He's a nutcase.

Huntsman is a dyed in the wool Progressive, but he is the only one of the candidates to come up with a coherent policy thus far that is both doable and makes sense. The flat tax at 33% is murder and Mittens 59 points of double talk is insane.

Cain’s toast. The only question is if he flames out before or after the primaries. Hopefully before. Because if not, Obama wins. Cain’s sticking his mitts in old ladies’ pocketbooks. That ain’t gonna fly.

I don’t think Cain ever thought he would be anymore than a 2nd tier candidate. I don’t know if he is prepared to defend the issues he used like 999 to gain attention.

I read Huntsman’s plan on his website months ago and it wasn’t bad. But I knew he had no shot so I didn’t really give it another thought.

I agree. I think he was an opportunist using the campaign to raise his profile and sell books, maybe get himself a cherry gig on Fox. Now he’s got this turkey hanging around his neck. He can’t back down so he’s going all-in. It’s big bluff and he’s a sucker-magnet.

I am hoping someone plagiarizes it. Lower the rates, cut the loopholes, get rid of Frank Dodd and Obamacare.

Somebody please tell me which is worse. Romneycare or Newt cuddling with Nancy on the couch chumming it up over man made global warming?

If you can't discern for yourself that socialized medicine legislation forced on the citizens of Massachusetts is worse than a photo-op, you're on the wrong board.

Conservatism isn't for nitwits.

"While Cain is a smart, likable guy, his 999 plan.... the cornerstone of his campaign...... is going nowhere, and his inexperience is starting to hurt him. Watch Cain vs. Newt's answers regarding the Iranian assination plot here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MiAuSy8x-ac&feature=player_embedded "

The more I learn about the 9-9-9 plan, the more I'm liking Newt. The 9-9-9 plan will not fly with retirees, and that's probably the largest voting block in this country, AND GROWING FAST! My response to 9-9-9 is NO-NO-NO!

"Why not choose the most brilliant, knowledgeable, experienced, Conservative, Christian, and yes, flawed, candidate that we have to pick from? Newt."

My thoughts exactly!

Aww common, Newt just needed some warmth from Pelosi. By the way has Newt run any business successfully? Signed paychecks on the front? Any particular reason why he quit his position as Speaker by dropping out of re-election? But I do like his debating skills. Not so sure about his skills in creating jobs.

I will only vote for Perry

I like that Perry is concentrating on jobs and energy independence. Praying he does better...I mean outstanding on the next debates.

You are over-estimating powers of the insider elites.
Non-elites make up 99 % of voters.

"Fortunately I'm in a state where the winner is picked by the time I can vote, so I don't have to pick from a list where none of the candidates is satisfactory. "

You must be in TX! By March 4th in my last pres primary, I had McCain, Huck, and Paul left. I refused to support McCain and Huck at that time, but voted against the muslim in the general.
