I like Cain...
I like the 999 taxes plan...
But...
How practical is it?
I mean, once Cain is in the White House, how likely is it that, he’ll actually propose the plan, and how likely is it that congress will actually take it up or even discuss it seriously?
Has Cain flip-flopped on another major issue such as his tax plan? Remember he is not a politician by profession. He is a successful businessman, rocket scientist, problem solver. He is much much much less likely to lie than....say....Romney.
Actually, in 9-9-9, we have more substance than we ever had in hope and change.
“I mean, once Cain is in the White House, how likely is it that, hell actually propose the plan, and how likely is it that congress will actually take it up or even discuss it seriously?”
How likely is that to happen with the current occupant of the White House? Or with mittens? Because those are the other menu choices.
“I mean, once Cain is in the White House, how likely is it that, hell actually propose the plan, and how likely is it that congress will actually take it up or even discuss it seriously?”
They won’t even discuss. It is already DOA even if he was to get elected. There are a great many things to like about Cain....but the 999 plan is not one of them. I honestly don’t understand who would like this? I HATE paying sales tax. I already pay about 9% income tax under the current code (after deductions, etc.). Why would I want to pay an additional 9% sales tax? That is a no duh thing.
I really do like Cain, but the 999 is not enough to propel him into the Oval Office......it is too simplistic and won’t fly with congress. He needs to move away from it, to a realistic plan to gradually reform the tax code. If he sticks with the 999 platform he is in danger of being a one trick pony.
Would never happen
