Fueled by Tea Party supporters, conservatives and high-interest GOP primary voters, former Godfathers Pizza CEO Herman Cain now leads the race for the Republican presidential nomination, according to the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.

You know, like Huck Finn? Puckish, a bit of a rebel (rogue?), but still basically decent.
No new national sales tax. Democrats and government idiots are salivating at that thought and a sales tax will just be added to other taxes once we get used to a national sales tax.
The only thing we need is import tariffs on China and other countries.
China went from being a stone age country to now making everything in 20 years. Imagine if we in the U.S. could have had that growth instead of being suckers and giving it to China who now props up the U.S. by lending the U.S. trillions per year.
999 is Insane.
Later they will just raise the income tax and raise the sales tax. No new taxes.
Good job! ; ~ )
Go Cain!!
Yesterday Free Republic seemed like DU. It makes me wonder what the hell is going on. Are Freepers getting younger? I always assume that DU is so pathetically immature because they must be younger. Free Republic has always been a place dominated by great class, and wit, and decency. Not this time. What I saw yesterday was a pathetic embarrassment and totally unworthy of this great forum. (emphasis mine)
It wasn't moral equivalence. My comparison to DU rests on my assertion (in bold) that the behavior I observed was a "pathetic embarassment" and "totally unworthy." If you don't accept that description, you won't accept the analogy. But it's not moral "equivalence," which is, as I understand it, when you treat as equal two instances that are NOT equal. I'm saying I saw stuff that was ON ALL FOURS with DU.
But that's in the past. I said my peace that day and lived to tell the tale, for which I am grateful. I got some good feedback and some constructive criticism that day--all for the good.
You're just babbling and emoting and feigning indignation. Next time throw in the word "impugn." It goes with the cliched riff you're playing. Maybe you did use that word. I'll have to go back and look. I didn't bother to read all of it.
Gingrich is smart and well informed, but he is also easily swayed by the “inside the beltway” cult of personalities, parties and loves to “reach across the aisle” just a bit too much.
Your reading comprehension appears to be around seventh grade level. I don’t say that as an insult; that is my honest appraisal. You also confuse rudeness/insults w discussion. Where did you get the idea to equate the two? From DU?
Sorry for the misunderstanding Huck. I thought it was a strange pseudonym for a woman.
The image of Newt sitting next to Nancy Pelosi on a park bench agreeing on global warming is forever etched in my mind.
Well, “etched” might not be the right term - it was a sofa, not a park bench. (Although the sofa was outside).
And I think he has retracted a bit on the global warming crap.
But agreed, he likes to reach across the aisle. What we need now is someone that will go in there and knock some heads.
Gosh you are right! I guess I was so horrified that I didn’t even notice that it was a sofa. I think I started dry heaving. Yech! I liked him so much to begin with that I named my now 17 year old wiener dog, Newt after him. Which is actually a great honor around our house.

No problem. First time it’s happened to me, but I’ve done it to others here and there.

Not hardly. Just a Jim DeMint supporter who is still in a bad mood that he didn't run.
Our perfect candidate would be a blend of Ginrich’s or Jindal’s knowledge and intelligence with Sarah Palin’s charisma and character.
Send it out to the media. They are far too lazy to do the work and far too lacking in integrity to report it if they did suddenly grow a few brain cells.
It replaces current revenue streams into SS and Medicare. Get it right.
