A new Rasmussen poll is pouring salt on Texas Gov. Rick Perry's wounds.
The struggling one-time front-runner is now trailing President Barack Obama in a head-to-head matchup 49 percent to 35 percent. Obama was leading Perry six or fewer points in two recent Rasmussen polls — and Perry narrowly polled ahead of Obama in early September.
Perry would fare worse than businessman Herman Cain, who in a poll last week trailed Obama 42 percent to 39 percent. Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney polls even with Obama — the best of the Republican presidential candidates.

Reality has kicked in. Conservatives get a Faustian choice. Ex-Democrat Rick Perry, warts and all; or the extremely well financed Mitt Romney.
It has been said before and bears repeating: Rick Perry does not lose elections. Yet he has Jack Crap for depth of field.
No healthcare experience, pro or con.
No international relations advisers.
No DOJ first picks. Keep Holder?
Campaign managers get remunerated to to get in front of controversy. The Perry camp is floundering (at BEST!) Friends are friends, but sometimes they are incompetent.
All of that said, who you gonna go with? The Mormon comment from a Perry “supporter” severely damaged the Perry camp.
Who is going to damn Christie for his endorsement?

Romney has fairly consistently polled well, IIRC. Everyone else is the flavor of the month, they somehow everyone seems to turn against them. It seems everything is happening too soon, but what do I know?
The really bizarre thing is that Perry's strength is campaigning & politics. Yet he stepped in it, big time.

Please read my comment regarding the terrible mis-steps of the Perry campaign.
I will clearly state that I support any candidate that wins the primary, to defeat Obama. Even if it a queer transgendered Mormon vegan(well maybe that is a bit extreme). We all have to start somewhere, and I have chosen to start with the Perry camp. I admit that they are foundering, and offer publicly stated opinion regarding those failures.
Leadership, vision, Focus. Win
Rick, lose the controversial “supporters”. They are killing the campaign.

I don't buy this poll for a second. While I still hesitantly support Herman Cain, I would gladly vote for Rick Perry over Zero!!! So this poll is total BS!!!
Even though Perry looked like he took too many xanax's last night he'd still crush Zero in a debate.
Even though he has more baggage than O'Hare Airport on Black Friday, I'd love to see Newt debate Zero. He'd be peeing in his pampers...
