Cain is this month's Perry.

Pawlenty got in, surged and faded, Bachmann surged and faded, Perry got in, surged and faded, Once Perry's star began to fade, Cain caught everyone's attention as a plausible alternative. As his negatives surface he will fade as well.

As each candidate begins catch the non-politico public's attention, they surge. Then they get scrutinized by the press and the public and their negatives are exposed. The natural result is that the public's infatuation with the flavor of the month begins to fade.

This thing is far from over. Newt is making a steady climb. He may yet surprise everyone because of his intelligence and reasonable responses in the debates. I also wouldn't be surprised to see Santorum rise some in the polls.

I think Mitt is hoping that he will out last everyone else. He is obviously stuck at around 20% and polling in the Republican Party shows that something like 70% would like someone other than Mitt. He has to hope that the others will destroy each other and he will emerge the sole survivor.

One thing for certain, Cain's 9-9-9 plan will not survive the scrutiny. It has constitutional problems and it is an open invitation to abuse by adding a new source of revenue at the beck and call of a Congress that has never been capable of exercising restraint.

No Congress can constrain the behavior of any subsequent Congress, thus a 9% sales tax will become a 9.5% tax, then a 10% tax . . . It will always come with some plausible excuse--massive floods and emergency spending, military exigencies, Medicare shortfalls--the list is endless.

This poll was done 7-10th of October, pre-debate. Wonder if his numbers will go higher after the debate?

“In a two-person race, Romney would lead Perry 48-38, Cain would lead Romney 48-36, and Cain would destroy Perry 55-27.”

He he he he! You can find this or that to disagree with Herman Cain on but what you cannot disagree with is the fact that people just simply like the guy.

So much for the idea that only Perry could beat Romney, we heartless racists supporting Cain sure are getting uppity!

Hey, if you really want to get a ticket that would have liberal heads exploding left and right (ok, just left), then Cain/Rubio would do the job! After all, such a ticket could only happen from a bunch of racists like conservative Republicans or is that reverse racists like conservative Republicans or something like that, anyway. And of course what makes it all even worse, these two are bona fide conservatives who are extremely articulate and straight shooters, uh, I mean straight talkers.

Regular people are sick and tired of “elite” political class. Romney is a proud member of the arrogant political class.

What got thousands upon thousands of ordinary Americans involved in politics and holding rallies? Their opposition to Obamacare.

Who is the clear candidate of the Republican establishment? The guy who signed the same basic scheme into law in his state when he was governor.

Could the Republican establishment possibly be more tone-deaf? Or are they sending a clear message?

Looks like they would rather rule in hell than serve in heaven. Losing the election is less terrible than losing their own status. Real reform terrifies them.

Herman Cain enjoys a strong national showing because the more people hear from Mr. Cain the more people are paying attention to Mr. Cain. Look I was at a gas station today on my way to work and a Lady had a handmade Herman Cain for President sign in her front car window a guy said to her so you are a Herman Cain fan and stated that he still liked Obama but was willing to listen to what Cain had to say. I jumped in the conversation and began to explain the benefits of the 999 plan. The point is that I have never heard people in the general public so interested in a politician before. Most people keep to themselves and don’t discuss their political leanings but for some reason Herman Cain is sparking that emotion in America. The smart thing would be for these other politicians to just get onboard the Cain Train and lets get moving.

Maybe I have become senile, but my best memories of when Alan Greenspan was running the fed, was that interest rates were low, steady, and stable. No bailouts and no stimulus injections.

Link doesn’t work, so couldn’t find details including sample size. Couldn’t find any such poll using Google. Where’d you get this? Pffft.

1) Ditch 999 fast- He should simply say, he wants to abollish the cuirrent tax system- He starts the discussion wt 999 and defends it, but he says he’s amenable to discuss other proposals so long as the tax system is revamped. He may have orginally needed 999 as an attention getter—— he surely doesn’t need it now.

2) Ditch big business - He was a CEO - but he also flipped burgers. Be more the burger flipper, the “po” guy is where his votes are.

Yes, Romney has been annointed by the Establishment- but frankly, that should be the “kiss of death” if GOP primaries 2010 are the guage. One bone fide outsider will knock him off easy. Cain is the outsider-—he blows his opportunity if he presents himself as a guy at the ready to join the Establishment in giving more taxpayer money to subsidize the losses of private businesses (eg, banks).

Gov. Palin was too long in coming to the message she delivered in Iowa— i.e- members of her own party were among the biggest “crony capitalists”. Cain has to change gears, and adopt that message-campaign against the establishment.

"Wow!!!!!! Mitt Romney's shocking loss to Herman Cain
in the PPP poll
,
and his incredible 3 to 1 devastating loss to Herman Cain in Florida
and his third place hopeless loss to Mr. Cain in the Presidential Straw Poll
of National Federation of Republican Women,
Romney's loss to Mr. Cain
in the October Newsmax/InsiderAdvantage poll,
and Romney's exsanguinating loss to Cain in the
Midwest Leadership Conference Straw Poll proves once again,
by McGinniss and Ailes and Romney and all our dirty tricks,
you can bet on life that FOX News and I will forever pimp
... our Milt Romney who will be the "leading candidate" in your future.

The Establishment Republicans have decided to ram Romney down our throats, though. Even though we DESPISE him!

PPP is a liberal group. Polls is not worth the paper it is written on. It is much too early to annoint anyone.
