I think I just witnessed the end of Cain's campaign tonight.

I think will see him pitching pizza's on a commercial for $9 eventually.

sadly, I was left thinking... we're so screwed. After watching the debate.

Seriously, none of them could fix this mess, well... maybe Gingrich could but he has no chance, but the rest of them don't have what it's going to take to turn this mess around. I think under normal circumstances most of them would do a decent job, but these are the times that try mens souls, and what we are being offered (at least what I have seen of them so far) is not up to the task.

I'm depressed.

I watched for the first time tonight but not the whole debate. I like Rick Santorum and don’t know one thing about him - other than he seemed to be in control - at least for the time I watched.

that’s why I’ve been depressed ever since Paul Ryan ruled out a run.
I didn’t agree with everything he said or did, but he stuck me as the only person who could seriously tackle these issues with some chance of success.

I felt depressed for a minute. Cain just has to show that he’s not tone-deaf and change his plan. There’s more rhan one way to skin a cat. Americanz will accept a reduced rate on certain business taxes if they think it will help put Americans back to work. The real problem is regulations strangling commerce on every level written by people with zero business acumen.

You're not alone in the depression department. After watching the whole "show" and contemplating it a bit, I found myself asking, "Is this the best the GOP has to offer?"

The Republic is seriously FUBAR'd! Of course tonight wasn't the first time that revelation has come up.

that’s because you don’t take 9-9-9 seriously.

What’s wrong with replacing 5 tax codes (and revenue streams) with one flat one? Do you realize all the drug dealers now would be paying 9% at least?

It would capture the underground economy, and lower us “working” folks taxes.

all I am asking, is take a look, and think about the plan. investigate the details. What would 9% flat do for corporate? For one thing GE now would pay hundreds of millions where today they pay 0. And “unpopular” businesses that haven’t bought off the crook politicians would go from 39% to 9%, which would be 7% lower than Canada’s business flat tax.

Think.

Gingrich? Not on your life. Give him a surplus and he’ll happily spend it rather than giving it back. Recall 1994??

I know what you mean. We have to pick a meathead no matter which way we look. :)
