There's a belief among a great number of Democrats that ALL success depends on THE BIG MAN giving you a break or just dumb luck.

I had a boss like that. I had worked my tail off for a couple of years reworking some serious regulations (involving the biggest most important customers and most of a billion bucks), and getting everything lined up for an appropriate rate change ~ and this guy said to me "You were just lucky. Anyone else here could have gotten that assignment."

Obviously the boss was wrong. I'd created the assignment and not another guy in the shop was interested in working on it ~ not even the boss.

An awful lot of Democrats are untrustworthy people because of that stupid belief of theirs.

“...An awful lot of Democrats are untrustworthy people because of that stupid belief of theirs...”

Liberals in general are like that. Because when they base their lifeview on envy, jealousy of what others have, hatred toward any other view but their own, and anger at everything and everyone that disagrees with them, how can they possibly be trustworthy?

Hell, how can a person like that even be LIKEABLE?

Same here. Back in my more naive days of working for the government, I managed the largest budget and the programs that needed the most attention but it was always the staff who failed at every turn who were praised. I still have a letter of commendation from other workers who saw what game the bosses were playing. It was so obvious that I’d get calls from medium level supervisors from other regions but soon this reward the dregs mentality became widespread. Then Reagan came into office and cut programs. Some of us saw the writing on the wall and found new jobs before getting replaced by the do-nothings. My replacement was a guy who hadn’t been to work for a month and never called in to let anyone know if he was coming back, sick, or what.
