Years of demagoguery from President Barack Obama has manifested itself in the Occupy Wall Street protests that started in New York and spread to all parts of the country. Whether intentional or not, President Obama's consistent us-versus-them message has helped spawn a loose assemblage of citizens angry about a potpourri of economic issues, with the focus being wealthy Americans.
Already the Occupiers are becoming political pawns for the 2012 election and broader ideological warfare. As counterculture activists, the Occupiers ought to reject authority, including all political parties; but, it seems as though some established, American special interests are working to capture the movement for political purposes. But attempting to infiltrate and unify a decentralized assembly is tricky business.
Inciting protests and pitting classes against each other is a dangerous political game the consequences of which may backfire and have dire electoral consequences for the Democrats and, more importantly, on productive political discourse and legislative progress. Such demagoguery only deepens divides at a time when the electorate is looking for optimism and a reason to band together and tackle challenges facing the country
When the central message from the White House has been often harsh rhetoric aimed at "corporate jet owners," big business and the top economic earners and producers in the country, and their purported societal influence, what outcome was to be expected other than deeper societal divides?
But what one might see as a nation further divided on political and ideological grounds, some special interests and even the Obama campaign sees the growing protests as a political opportunity, perhaps even a political tool that would offset the Tea Party has had in elections for Republicans

Crapping on police cars really doesn’t do much for their cause. A rich, college kids “Woodstock”.
And a lot of poor, non-college students were at Yasgur's farm, back then? I think not...

George Will wishes them "long life and ample publicity".
I disagree with some of the Republicans. I wish the Occupy Wall Street demonstrators long life and ample publicity for two reasons: I think they do represent the intellectual spirit of the American left, but also I remember 1960s. We had four years of demonstrations like this led up to 1968 when the Nixon/Wallace vote was 57 percent the country reacting against demonstrators, and Republicans went on to win five of the next six presidential elections.
Yup. These fleabagger tantrums are going to prove to be The Mother of All Exploding Cigars for the commie ‘RATS. I hope more and more ‘RATS come out the way Barry and Pelosi did and claim that they support these maggots. Works for me.
Occupussies
I don’t like Will much, but his observation is spot-on this time. This crowd is the biggest batch of bad news the Dems have seen in decades. Maybe even worse than four years of Carter.
“Occupiers are becoming political pawns”.
Geve me a break, This should read Political pawns called the Occupiers are a tool of the 2012 election.
Obama the “Great Inciter”
And if this is the so called Arab Spring/American Fall, that must mean that DC is the tyrannical government there are revolting against. One of these days one of those occupiers is gonna realize that, best to keep the drugs rolling until then.
Oy, that guy looks like his brain has been pickled by long-term illicit substance use. He’s rather scary looking.
I’d wonder what the girl sees in him—except that the sign does say that she needs adequate *mental* healthcare.
I’m still wondering what, exactly, is the “99%” they keep refering to. I’m pretty sure no one I know is among the 99%.

'Occupy': Excrement of the Left

It is becoming increasingly clear to many that the ultra left wants a revolution which would rule out electoral consequences because the force involved with that would mean 100% approval for their lifestyle which we see demonstrated by the occupiers on Wall Street. Anyone opposing would end up in a gulag or in a grave. Sometimes I wonder what the people we elected in D.C. are ingesting or smoking. We are a drug infested society and that is one of our major problems..At the moment, Herman Cain is my candidate..If Mitt Romney is the GOP candidate, tragically, many fundamentalist Christians will stay home.
The OWS movement is nothing more than BAIT to incite riots bought & paid for by members of the moneyed leftists.

Many on the left wanted the tea partiers to break the law so the army could be called out and put a stop to it. That didn’t happen and once they realized it they got the nuts to take to the streets. They’re hoping it gets ugly. Then martial law is inevitable.
Classic!
