Lawrence O’Donnell vs. Herman Cain
Hotair ^ | 10-7-11 | Jazz Shaw

Yet another story of media failure shows up in the Hot Air inbox this week, courtesy of the fine folks at MSNBC. (Yes, I know… I know… but I can’t help myself. And besides, I watch so you don’t have to.) In this instance, we find liberal gadfly Lawrence O’Donnell interviewing Herman Cain, shortly after yet another poll shows the former Godfathers Pizza CEO moving into potential frontrunner status.

You’d think, given all of the attention being paid to this race and the national implications involved, that O’Donnell might dive into some substantive questions on topics which Cain has addressed. Perhaps he could dig into the 9-9-9 plan and how the proposed new tax rates would affect the deficit? Or he might inquire about what Cain plans to do about Afghanistan, given all of the dodgy news coming out of Pakistan recently?

If so, you’d be sadly disappointed. O’Donnell launches into some serious condescending sniping and badgering which seems geared more towards attempting to make Cain look foolish than explore his positions.

You can watch the entire interview in three parts at Mediaite, assuming you have the stomach for it.

This was one of the most vile interviews I have ever witnessed. The civil rights questions got to Cain at first but he came back in the 2nd and 3rd parts of the interview. I hope everyone watches all the way through because Cain came out on top.

People expect the “journalists” at MSNBC to dive into substantive topics???? Are they serious?????

I think we all know that MSNBC is a propaganda network. They are pushing liberalism. And if they interview conservative/Republican candidates, the purpose of the interviews is to make the candidates look bad. The radicals at MSNBC will never dive into substantive topics just to educate the viewers about where a candidate stands on the issues. As a partisan network, they will always take an adversarial position when talking to conservative candidates or conservative elected officials.

“You’d think, given all of the attention being paid to this race and the national implications involved, that O’Donnell might dive into some substantive questions on topics”

This will NOT happen in most of the lamestream, but NEVER on MSNBC. When it comes to the issues, they get seriously bloodied when it comes to facts. I would never expect anything close to intellectualism from THAT bunch.

What I DON’T understand, is WHY ANY republican candidate would waste one moment of their time going on any of their shows. It seems their time would be better spent going to where the people are actually watching.

I was gonna watch when I was flipping through channels but I just can’t stand O’Donnell. I did wonder why Cain would even bother going on his show.

I am conflicted. On one hand I wonder why Cain would go and be interviewed by an asshat like O’Donnell and let himself be attacked like that. On the other, I think it is good to get these radical leftists to be seen attacking solid Americans like Cain. It exposes how little, petty and ignorant they are. I think Cain handled this sniveling toad well.

The left is scared to death of Cain and it shows.

I question Cain’s judgment for appearing on his show. It’s not exactly a secret that O’Donnell is a horse’s ass.

In listening to Rush, and hearing exerpts of the the interview... That drum O’Donnell was looking for gotchya moments throughout (typical)... But he caught Cain saying Cain was in HS during the civil rights marches. Turns out he was in fact, in college... not good

I’m a little concerned that we haven’t vetted him enough, and the ‘12 may turn out to be Obama CS Keyes redux, on a national scale

His comments on abortion the other day were confusing to anyone lists of to it... His comments re: not supporting Perry... Re willing to be Romney’s VP.. This gaffe

Perry has awful faults re: immigration, but we shouldn’t throw him under the bus yet... He may be the only one that can knock out Romney... IMHO

Because they can't change minds by continually preaching to the choir.

Another take at Cain’s appearance would be for him to expose the leftist medias’ take on race baiting. If you listen to Cain, he is masterful at explaining how the Democrat Party has completely taken over the race issue and twisted that philosophy into the Republican Party being racists and bigots. I really like Herman Cain alot...and the more I listen to him......the better I like him!

Herman Cain was given clear instruction by Mr. O’Donnell that he (as well as all black folk and their votes) are “owned” by white liberals. O’Donnell pointed out Mr. Cain as a youth, did not display “correct approved” liberal behavior required of all “real” African-Americans! As such O’Donnell was functioning as the modern Democrat “patroller man” (as the cruel bounty hunters who recaptured escaped slaves were called). Mr. Cain as are Allen West, Condi Rice, Clarence Thomas (and all black GOPers) are all “runaways” from the liberal Democrat “plantation” they must be “whipped” (aka: Brainwashed) into submission to their “owners” demands. Not unlike represented by the character Kunta Kinte. In the 1977, miniseries “Roots”.

Mr. O’Dumbell is ignorant to the fact that:

The Democrats were clearly the pro-slavery party in the 1800s, and following the Civil War fought against giving former slaves any civil rights and having blacks a part of the political process, and voted against time and time and time again any civil rights legislation proposed by Republicans. And that The Democrats were the Klu Klux Klan, which was formed to intimidate anyone black or white from voting for pro-civil rights Republicans in southern elections. And we can argue that the Democrats still have Blacks in a form of slavery, by twisting their knowledge of history by pretty much erasing history older than than MLK. And their new slave master is keeping’s them in “Want”, and the Government being the provider.

Yes. Cain is right. American black and white has been brainwashed.
