I really can’t see a more interesting matchup than Obama vs Cain in the GE.
Does anyone else think that it might look like conservatives are backing Herm cuz “we” want to be on the soul train too? Is that rasist of me?
In the end I don’t see how it matters much. I think the debt load is going to hurl this country back into the dark ages no matter who is president.
The only person I wouldn’t vote for against Zero is McCain. I’d just move to Greece if that was the choice

OK, now THAT cracked me up! You and I are on exactly the same page here. I watch this the way most people watch sports. But hopefully they are watching less monday night football. ;->
I had a similar thought to be wary about putting a black guy in just to say we had one, but Cain is too well qualified not to be picked - regardless of race.
And I consider not ever holding elected office to be one of his greatest strengths, in no way a weakness in this cycle.
Not this one. I'd vote for him mainly because he is outside the Beltway, the same as I felt about Mrs. Palin. I couldn't care less if he was polka-dotted or striped - what he stands for is what counts.
0bama and his administration have an
“impenetrable melanin-based criticism shield”
that no white man could get past.
Herman Cain can and will “get past” it, and his beliefs are sound.
The surge you see is due to the Palinites jumping on the Cainwagon.
He may not be the "prettiest" guy in the race and he is black. IMO he is also the most qualified.

Sadly, I think you are right and most of the world along with us. All the fantastic new technology might actually allow us to come out of this dark hole but political posturing by would be dictators will prevent it.
You wouldn't have to expend the energy in moving. If that *were* the choice, we would *become* Greece, or a close facsimile, in very short order...
