Just goes to show you that all the money in the world can’t buy you a championship if all your star players come up small in big situations.

Actually, I believe A-Wod was originally acquired in a trade in exchange for another wiffer, Alphonse Soriano.

That said, the two Yankees who performed the worse in this series were A-Rod and Tex, two of their costliest players. The Yankees should have let A-Rod walk several years ago when they had a chance.

They have a better chance playing their own homegrown talent.

They have a better chance playing players that are healthy. ARod was not healthy. He should not have played. That is on the manager.

That said, ARod had some great games in the field. He is a very good third baseman.

But, as others have pointed out, it’s nice to see Detroit knock them off.

Alfonso Soriano was a real postseason disappointment with the Yankees. Check out his 2003 numbers, for example . . . 26 Ks in 71 at-bats over 17 games. He bought himself a ticket out of town with that performance.
