“Yes as a matter of fact, I did.”
I sure hope it was more than $5,000. Anything less than that is offensive!
So we just replace the Chicago way with Texas way? Same, same.
Wow!
I guess all those contributing to Mitt, didn't get the word.
the better to defeat Mittens, the master debater
I just heard not but two or three weeks ago that it was vitally important who gets the money in the early stages. Sounds like his getting in late didn’t matter as he knows where to get the money OR a lot of people are betting on him still. :)
Hmmm. Nice hair.
Wow. A positive story. I guess Drudge was reading Politico.
Right.....by the time Palin announces in 2024, 17 million will look like pennies!!!!
;)
Q: When is a good time? Do you have a timeline?
Palin: I have said that that August/September timeframe is important for logistical and legal reasons to jump in there, but
Q: So by next month?
Palin: I think that just practically speaking that has to be kind of a drop dead time. Also, in fairness to supporters, who are standing on the timeline, and this is what I have told Todd over and over again, I dont want to be seen as or perceived as stringing people along, asking supporters, Oh dont just jump in there on someone elses bandwagon because I may jump in, so hold off a little bit. That is not fair to them. After another month or two goes by, they need to know who it is that they can jump behind. Now more than ever, everybody has got to get involved in this 2012 election. They need to get out there and campaign for their chosen candidates, its all the more reason to hurry up and decide.
A few moments later, there was this exchange:
Q: Will you know by the next time you are here in Iowa whether you will be in, over Labor Day?
Palin: I doubt it. By the next time I am here by September 3? I dont know if within the next couple of weeks I will be ready for an announcement or not.
Q: So the end of September is no longer a viable deadline?
Palin: No, he was asking about my next visit here on September 3, if I would be ready for an announcement September 3. And I said I dont know if I would be ready by September 3.
Q: So the end of September would still be your timetable?
Palin: That is still a possibility for a timetable. Yes, definitely.
More importantly, I imagine, is the amount he is able to raise in the next 4 weeks - prolly see a major drop-off... unless those oversea funds keep rolling in.
I don’t know about that...I think those of us who go to conservative sites or listen to radio may be overestimating our clout. That is, we have clout if we can project general ideas (small government, free economy, respect for traditional family and social life in the US, etc.) but when we get into our particular obssessions that only a “vanity candidate” can agree with us on, we lose people and look like the nutcases of the past who made a candidate’s stand on fluoridation seem to be the crucial thing. And that’s the part that is magnified by the press and people on the outside, of course.
So I agree with you on the one hand that there’s more exposure to conservative positions now (which is precisely the reason Obama is always trying to control the Internet and radio), but we have to be careful to keep our focus on the principles.
Otherwise we’ll get Romney as the GOP candidate, because he has much more money than anybody else (and is willing to throw in a lot of his own personal money, which Perry can’t equal) and he’s the one the press is promoting. Even the WSJ this morning had some stupid article about how Christie’s decision not to run means that the slot is now Romney’s. Sigh.
The good news is that Perry raised $17 million. The bad news is that he will soon be making a fool of himself again in a nationally televised debate.
You can bet that the majority of Perry’s money came from Texas mega donors.
Good. This still gives us a chance to save this great nation.
