In an explosive interview with Al Jazeeras English Washington bureau chief Abderrahim Foukara, former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld blasted the journalist for haranguing and refused to answer his questions accusing Foukara of having it in his being to be disrespectful.
The heated exchange erupted when the topic came to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Foukara asked Rumsfeld whether he felt responsible for the deaths of innocent Iraqis because, according to Foukara, the Bush administration didnt secure the borders of the country and sent in too few troops.

didnt secure the borders
He should have said, “Hell we can’t even secure our own damn border!”
I stand with Rumsfeld, always have and always will.
what Ike should have done is place landmines on the border. We can’t do it nowadays due to the pc wuss factor,,
Rumsfeld is cooler than two Fonzies tied together with a snake.
(picked up that line on the interwebs somewhere...)
I'm sorry Rumsfeld subjected himself to this interview. If he ever came to my area for a book signing, I'd stand in line to meet him.
Rumsfeld...1979
I am studying his book! Every page has so much information about what was happening in DC and Iraq and Afghanistan, it has to be read carefully. Just imagine “the rest of the story” that is either still classified, or would be considered personal insult. Not only are there a LOT of words in this book, there is a lot of reading between the lines.
I am glad that he is speaking in public forums.
Many Americans will never know how fortunate our country has been to have both Rumsfeld and Cheney in office.
I thought it was the best political book that I’ve ever read. He’s not afraid to admit his mistakes. I loved that he showed his disdain for Condoleeza Rice and Colin Powell. All in all, I think he’s the definition of a true public servant.
ahh, thanks for that
“I am reading his book and Donald is brilliant.”
I’ve always been impressed by Rumsfield.
But, I didn’t read his book.
Question: Why did Bush remove him immediately after the election after saying that he supported him?
