President Obama said Tuesday that none other than conservative icon former President Ronald Reagan would have supported his plan to raise taxes on Americans who make more than $1 million per year, known as the "Buffett rule."
Mr. Obama quoted Mr. Reagan's 1985 comment calling for an end to tax loopholes for the rich.
"Some of those loopholes were understandable, but in practice they sometimes made it possible for millionaires to pay nothing, while a bus driver was paying 10 percent of his salary, and that's crazy. It's time we stopped it," Mr. Obama quoted Mr. Reagan saying.

Polar opposites.Reagan was talking about streamlining the tax code, eliminating deductions and lowering everyone’s taxes overall to spur the economy.
Obama is talking class warfare and raising taxes on the wealthy to bludgeon the economy. A case of Obama arguing up is down again.

What this guy is saying is they have no concept or understanding of Reagan not his policies. Now, playing around "in practice" while pushing the very boundaries of "loopholes"? This dude and all his ilk understand perfectly. It's not the loophole "they" want to stop, its how that damn bus driver got away with ONLY paying 10 percent when surely they can write the code better and get 12, maybe 15 percent from that bus driver.

One of the big reasons Reagan started voting for Republicans like Ike and Nixon in the 1950’s was his growing disgust for the Feds 91% top tax rate he was paying as a Hollywood actor and spokesman for GE.
