ELECTION 101: 10 things to know about Herman Cain

Confirmation of this comes with Gallup’s new Positive Intensity Score numbers, which are created by subtracting the percentage of strong opponents of a particular candidate from the percentage of strong supporters. Cain’s POS is now 30, the highest for any GOP candidate this year.

“Cain’s straw poll win, and his resulting gains in recognition and positive intensity, may have made him a legitimate contender for the Republican nomination in Republicans' eyes,” writes Gallup analyst Jeffrey M. Jones.

OK I think we’ve stretched this dairy analogy like string cheese in the hands of a 3 year old.

Cain’s rise in the polls? Well, it’s obvious because conservative Republicans, the ones responsible for Cain’s rise, are all nasty racists. At least that’t the totally insane explanation offered by many of the nation’s wacko libs. Yes, to cover their racism for not wanting a black man in the Oval Office, conservatives are more than willing to elect a black man president. Why yes, I can clearly see that all those conservatives are racist for doing so. (smirk)Do libs even know are cracked they are?

Perhaps the FED coupled with folks who have made it okay for a conservative to support TARP, nationalize the banks(I know, just a little, and we can trust him), to make fun of those who want to adhere to the constitution as free market purists, and who love adding a national sales tax to the income tax. Oh, but it will be smaller and it is just a step to a really huge national sales tax that will keep the federal government in the same amount of money they take from us now. Yes, that is the new conservative goal. And, many are apparently too taken by a “good speech” to be offended with Cain’s ridiculous and patently false claim that the FED needs no audit because (get ready) they have their own checks and balances and do their own internal audit- if you don’t believe it, Herman says just call them up and ask them. That anyone would take him seriously after such a condescendingly stupid statement indicates our country will not be turned around by “conservatives.” But, that has been true all along. We will have to fall even further until enough wake up and elect a “pure constitutionalist.” Sorry if that is a dirty word.

and those who find it disstasteful that the FED takes trillions of our money and spreads it around to banks around the world. It is disstasteful to those who are willing to open their eyes to the avalanche of evidence as to how corrupt the FED is.

Well, that might not happen. Right now both are drawing from the well that Romney isn’t. We could get a three way split with Cain and Palin both getting 30 percent of the vote and Romney getting just enough to get in.

Running over my numbers again I get Perry 23, Romney 22, Cain, 4 and Bachmann, 1.

Perry:

TX, AK, LA, AZ, NM,
FL, MS, AL, TN, KY,
VA, SC, IN, IA, MO,
MT, WY, ND, SD, CO,
KA, OK

Romney:

AK, HI, WA, OR, CA, UT, NV,
IL, WI, MI, OH, PA, MD, DE
NJ, NY, RI, VT, NH, ME, CT,
MA

Cain:

WV, GA, NE, NC,

Bachmann:

MN

Cain’s eating into Perry support, gained +3 states off Perry.

I’ve never like that old axiom because turds also rise/float to the top, like McCain, Romney, Perry.

That said, Cain is the best conservative, non-career politician to come along. I think he can win and also move us out of this mess.

Cain seems very strong here in rural SE Ohio. I begrudgingly admit Romney has support, but not what I see as enthusiastic...more like 'he's acceptable.'

Cain and Palin must know that vote-splitting for them favors Romney...curious how they will deal with this.

Palin vs Cain helps Romney run up the middle.

More like an end run up the left side. But I see your point.

Faith in God.

One of Cain's best qualities and it will see him well through the contest, despite media efforts.

A new CBS poll has Cain tied with Mittens.

Are there many Perry supporters?

(Day-to-day, I interact mostly with fellow Appalachians, most of SE Ohio; All walks of life and income.)

There weren't and now the talk is he shot himself in the foot.

Ohio put in Kasich (R) as Governor and he's been very popular with conservatives and not at all with unions (State worker unions, teachers, heavy construction and some other trades). For now, many say Kasich and supporters may well prevail and put Ohio from purple to Red.

Ohio's conservative problem at the ballot box comes from the cities: Cleveland, Columbus, Toledo are hard liberal-left and minority (mostly black) who vote democrat. Cincinnati and suburbs could go Red.

Rural Ohio is conservative, and those around here are enthusiastic about Cain.

I have friends out your way in Steubenville. Heard many good things about SE Ohio.

Personally I prefer TX though. :)
