*** Raising (and lowering) Cain: After his straw-poll win in Florida, Cain is getting a second look from conservative opinion-makers. The Wall Street Journal's Daniel Henninger has called Cain a credible candidate who deserves a serious look, while Michael Barone now labels him a contender. And over the weekend, Cain won another straw poll, this one sponsored by the National Federation of Republican Women. One reason why hes resonating with conservatives is that hes a non-politician with a business record (which might explain why Cains getting a second look but Rick Santorum isnt). So Cain now has his moment, and guess what: He doesnt appear to be using it. For starters, with about three months until the Iowa caucuses, hes going on a book tour for much of October. Second, he's not scheduled to be back in Iowa until mid-November. And third, his communications director just left his campaign -- to work for the re-election of Louisianas lieutenant governor (!!!). Those arent just signs of someone whos unlikely to win the GOP nomination; theyre signs of someone who isnt really trying to win, a la Mike Huckabee in 2007-2008. Cain does, however, meet with Donald Trump today. If you judge Huckabees 2008 campaign as a success, then Cain is on a successful path.

Yes, take it or leave it. If it’s true, though, that’s a surprise, given his recent surge.
Funny, I don’t think MSNBC wants to be a credible news source, they’re just trying to take down a few conservatives before they go down themselves.
All of them, apparently.
Wow, the thought of a REAL black president seems to scare the heck out of them!
Ironically, the same page discusses Christie getting into the race. Christie has made it abundantly and convincingly clear that he does NOT want to be President. So why would he toss his name in the ring? Because he’s a political friend of Rick Perry, and he would almost certainly draw most of his support from Mitt Romney, the other northeastern moderate.
NBC is a complete joke. Hardcore lefty crap on MSNBC and trying to pump up the tea party on CNBC. What gives.
MSNBC.
They’re flaming, uber-partisan liberals, right?
*IF* it’s true then maybe he didn’t expect the surge! If you think about it, Cain is going up because of the total collapse of Perry and thus there is a VOID of a conservative voice in the race, he is the only one right now.
The MSM is trying to minimise Herman Cain because they are scared shiftless of him.
IF this attack were true, maybe it MIGHT apply to Newt. But, its still a stretch, and I don’t buy it. It’s an attack plain and simple, and its being leveled by jerks who would do it to anyone that ever published a book as long as it helps them move their agenda forward.
Well, then,
think about how many books he’d sell if he won!
They’re scared.
He can't stand Rick Perry. Do you listen to his speaches?
How long before MSNBC labels him an Uncle Tom or an Oreo?
and MSNBC isn’t really trying to report the news, they’re just trying to sell advertising.
I’m supposed to give a crap about what they say? Feh.
1-The accusation is racist on it’s face.
2-Book sales won’t equal the amount spent campaining, but libs are immune from the concept of reducing spending, as it interferes with the excuse to grab other people’s money.
Cain’s just in it for the money, as are Palin and Bachmann. In fact, anyone who is a threat to the anointed pick - Mitt Romney - is just in it for the money, unqualified, and has bad breath. I think that nicely summarizes the media coverage of all conservative candidates.
Ah ha; so Cain has MSNBC scared sh**less.
