Rev. Sharpton Responds to Rick Perry ‘Niggerhead’ Story[Calls on Perry to withdrawl from race]
Eurweb ^ | October 2, 2011 | Al Sharpton

Posted on 10/02/2011 1:19:35 PM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

“The Washington Post story revealing that Texas Governor Rick Perry hunted and hosted lawmakers at a hunting camp called Niggerhead is alarming and displays a new height in racial insensitivity in national politics. Mr. Perry should immediately fully explain how he could have gone to a ranch and hunted that is named after such an obvious racist term or he should withdrawl from the race. He is either blindly insensitive or hopelessly unaware of where he spends his time. Either way it makes one wonder if he is ready for prime time and certainly whether he is ready for the White House. – Reverend Al Sharpton, President National Action Network”

Get lost!

You've called me a supporter of system that's caused the outright murder of over 100,000,000 people in the last 100 years. You may think it's a joke, but I take that accusation seriously.

LOL You’re the one who is pushing this. I agreed with you and now you’re trying to make an issue of that.

Cain is not necessarily to blame for being perceived as politically weak and naive. It is the flip side of expressing a no nonsense straight to the point, decisive, business persona, which what got him here after all. He isn’t my candidate - but it is the price of an unvetted newcomer. You buy into the entire package, warts and all, and hope for the best.

But outside of some blacks, Democrats and Perry-haters, I can’t imagine actually liking him more when that outsider image bleeds into rashness, irresponsibility and race baiting.

So far I like what comes out of Cain’s mouth and Santorum’s better than the other candidates, but its a long way off yet till the election. Cain strikes me as a genuine human being that I would enjoy sitting and having a cup of coffee with. He’s experienced, smart and has a sense of humor. some of the others are plastic politicans. Can you imagine a one on one conversation with Romney or Perry/ They are professionals and come across as so...but that is just my opinion of them...I agree with you Cain seems like a fair man. He is not programed by his staff...I think he is his own man....

You’re not helping Perry with this stuff. Or, are you a Ron Paul guy?

Black eyed susans grow wild on my property. But to get my pink and yellow echinacea purpurea to grow in my garden is next to impossible...rabbits eat the coneflowers but not the black eyed susans....(common name for the echinacea here in Michigan.) they recently came up with several different colors for the echinacea...the yellow and pinks are pretty...also have the purples....I had to buy bird cages at garage sales to put over the flowers, that helps a little but they still get nibbled on when they stick out of the bird cages...darn rabbits....deer and rabbits eat my hosta’s...

Amazing that some people want to edit Americas black history. As if it never happened. If any thing, blacks should be proud of thier history , not erase it.

The tiny handful of legal children that have illegal parents that would take advantage of this tuition situation is only a concern on this board. Those few that graduate from college here will get work and be productive citizens. And, they are still paying for the education. Most people I know here in Texas don’t have a problem with that. Perry didn’t have the power to keep that from passing anyway.

I think Cain put the Perry camp on defense. No one knew of the lodge until the question was asked of Cain...I surely didn’t...look at all the Perry defenders that have posted on this thread...the media delibertly asked Cain because of his race....they place the race card on him and not the other candidates...it was deliberate on their part, I’m not falling for it...but I like Cain, his attitude and answers. I think he is genuine...

I think this says a lot more about Democrat racial views than Perry’s own.

its' called "projection"...
you accuse your opposition of, what you believe
....and it was 25 years ago.

One of the best posts I’ve seen in days. and every word of it is true. Maybe we ought to quit defending Perry and let fools get Romney, and then another 4 years of Zero. Make no mistake, the MSM knows what they are doing, and they are going to try to pick our candidate for us.

Those flowers are fairly thick here in central Texas and I have heard them called Niggerheads,Black Eyed Susans and just Sunflowers, although I don’t know if they are even related to Sunflowers

Thanks for the pings. Just got back here to read the posts again. Definitely sounds troll-ish to me. This whole thing strikes me as reminiscent of some of the anti-Thompson antics back in 2007. Honestly, I wouldn’t put it past some of Romney’s team to try to make a big deal out of this, but it could be DNC operatives, too.

The way (a FEW) folks are talking about Cain here all of a sudden (the whole race-baiting schtick) reminds me that it IS football season... It REALLY sounds like someone - not sure who - is laying down some new astroturf.
