The US government should consider sending troops to Mexico to combat drug-related violence, Texas Governor Rick Perry, who is seeking the Republican nomination for US president, said Sunday.
"It may require our military in Mexico working in concert with them to kill these
At present Barack Obamas administration is providing serious financial support to Mexican security services, while the security services of two countries are closely cooperation, Radio Liberty reports.

And Perry won't change either of those by his own public statements.
Notice how the Russian paper cuts Perry’s quote off?

U.S. Military Doing 'Limited' Drug War Work In Mexico, Napolitano Says - NPR - March 24, 2010
"Yes. Let me be very, very clear (because) this is a very delicate subject. ... Our military in certain limited ways has been working with the Mexican military in their efforts against the drug cartels. But, it is at the request of the Mexican government, in consultation with the Mexican government. And it is only one part of our overall efforts with Mexico, which are primarily civilian in nature."

A home run in a t-ball game
First there was the Security and Prosperity Partnership(2005) and the North American Perimeter Security legislation that fell thru.
Then there was the Merida Initiative, which, to my knowledge, has never been fully funded by Congress.
Then there was the Narco Terror money flowing into AZ that should have been going to Texas but both parties wanted the money going to AZ because AZ is in play. That's one of the reasons the AZ gov got the DHS Secretary job.

It is the Federal government's responsibility to secure the border. What is "non" border state politician Obama doing about it but turning his back on Rick Perry when he went to meet him on the tarmac in Austin with a letter -- after being denied a meeting?

Mexico has already militarized its law enforcement (and as far as I know, welcomes donations of military equipment), and what Hillary! alluded to was an undertaking similar to US/Columbia joint military efforts.
At any rate, "border security" and "using US military to eradicate Mexican organized narco-crime, in Mexico" are different approaches to a common problem.
How many wars does Governor Perry want us to be in at any given time? Iraq. Afghanistan. Various and sundry Arab countries. Mexico. Any others?
Or troops on Iraq,Afghanistan,S.Korea,Japan,Germany and Libya’s border.
I suggest anything is better than the executive policy of providing criminals along the border and in Mexico with automatic weapons, as was done by Obama-Holder -— first covered up, then lied about and now they remain silent on those actions.

What wars has Gov. Perry suggested to you he wants?
Regarding Mexico, he is suggesting a cooperative bid between Mexico and the U.S. to rout the drug cartels that are murdering thousands on the border and in both countries; stopping the drug and human trafficking that has created a dangerous life for everyone living on the border and beyond is the objective. People have been murdered with Obama-Holder purchased weapons and given to the drug cartels.
In an ailing economy, shut down the border?

There is an equally corrupt faction (one being the FedGov) in this country aiding and abetting the drug/smuggling trade.
I agree with Perry. What is coming across our borders now is not your average happy go lucky migrant farmworker crossing to come work the harvests and then return home.
These are narco and mozlem terrorists, gangs, and criminals coming up through Mexico from Central America. It’s an invasion, not a migration. And stop the krap about a fence. A fence is not going to stop them. Hell is a fence around Israel stopping the blasted mozlems? NO, it isn’t. It has to be patrolled constantly with boots on the ground. And you are only talking about a 70-mile-at-most border in Israel. In Texas alone our border is 1200 miles long in a s-curve running all directions.
The BEST thing we can do is put several US military training bases along that border. What better way to train our soldiers than in those mountains in that wilderness, along that riverbed, and across that desert constantly patrolling it and hunting these bastards down. And stopping them from crossing.
This blithering about neo-cons, soft on immigration krap, and demonizing Perry just because some on here favor another candidate that doesn’t have as successful a record as Perry and can’t get elected on their own merit without tearing somebody his record down is pure Alynskite tactics just like the commiecrats use.
As far as I'm concerned, that is a separate subject from immigration policy and border security. I understand that there is some at least tangential relationship between arming the narco-criminals and border security (and between arming the narco-criminals, then sending in your own military to do battle with them), but for the most part, the issues are separable.
As a standard for supporting a candidate, "better than the ones who sell guns into Mexico so they can strip US citizens of the RKBA" is very low.
I think heads should roll, literally, for that. Death penalty - and I'd let Mexico impose it on our federal government officials and employees who set up and executed the program.
I'll be pleasantly surprised if there is a single criminal conviction; and I doubt Holder or Obama will be damaged by the scandal. Congress is worse than worthless, it is damaging to the country's well-being.
I see you live in Maine so it’s understandable that you see things differently.
National security is threatened by the unprotected Mexican border — this involves illegal migration into the U.S. and crime.
A sealed border will combat both issues.
Perry wants a sealed border and he does not believe in amnesty.
He recognizes that the crime along the border hurts both countries and actions by the administration have exacerbated the situation — lit a fire.
And when Mexico says 'no' to U.S. troops being in their country, what would President Perry do? Considering that he made this proposal with absolutely no evidence whatsoever that Mexico might want U.S. intervention kind of indicates that their feelings aren't of prime importance to him.

So that’s it, CW. You guys have now been ordered to stop trying to counter Perry criticism and simply SILENCE people that respond negatively to Perry puff-pieces in any way.
That is not going to go over very well on this site and maybe the rumors that the pro-Perry posts were going to start being removed will come true...as they are certainly making it very difficult to use this site anymore.
