Obama: Commander in chief must back gay troops
CBS News / The Associated Press ^ | October 1, 2011

President Barack Obama sharply rebuked his Republican rivals Saturday, saying anyone who wants to be commander in chief must support the entire U.S. military, including gay service members.

A combative Obama criticized Republican presidential candidates for staying silent when the crowd at a recent debate booed a gay soldier who asked a question of the contenders via videotape.

"You want to be commander in chief? You can start by standing up for the men and women who wear the uniform of the United States, even when it's not politically convenient," Obama said during remarks at the annual dinner of the Human Rights Campaign, the nation's largest gay rights organization.

Referencing the boos at the Sept. 22 Republican debate, he said: "We don't believe in standing silent when that happens."

Obama touted his administration's efforts to repeal the military's ban on openly gay service members, as well as his orders to the Justice Department to stop enforcing a law defining marriage as between one man and one woman...

Are you willing to cast out a person who believes in such things, just because that person has a different view of homosexuality?

I couldn't care less where some pervert wants to park his johnson, just stay out of the military, it is a matter of of morale and discipline. You disgust me, you sick pervert.

I am not gay, and I find the idea of two men getting it on to be repugant, to be honest.

But personal feelings should not dictate personal rights.

And I find it disappointing that you are unwilling to discuss the topic and must resort to hurling insults.

You can never mistake a queer troll, they never stop.

There's two of them. At the moment. Before the Kitties show up.

Is it asking to much for our 18 year olds who want to serve honorably to not be subject to this ridiculous perversion? Worse yet taking orders from some queer bait NCO. Good God help us. Go away.

He also wants military chaplains to perform same sex "marriages."

Oh, no. Oh, hell no.

Sounds like he wants to blow out the military ordinariat, too -- the Catholic chaplains will resign their commissions en masse.

No doubt Barky thought of that, too ...... guess he'd have to get more Moo chaplains and Metropolitan Fudgepacker ministers in there to replace them, eh?

Your an Idiot,Gays Have been in the Military as long as we have been a Nation,That is a Fact, to just ignore that makes you a Dope,I dont condone it at all, when they were caught while I served they were Booted out as they should Have been,it demoralizes and weakens the Military. To Openly let Homos serve is wrong. Dont ask dont tell just acknowledged a Fact of life that gays could join without being detected.

My idea is that the sexuality of the individual in the military should be irrelevant. Do not celebrate or denigrate. It is a personal thing and the business of nobody else, just get in their and destroy those who seek to harm your country-men.

You either have no experience with the subject or you are lying. I have 28 years' service and was an investigator for the IG. I have seen way too many homosexual rings that had to be eliminated. It is mythology that homosexuals are "just like everyone else but prefer sex with people like themselves".

It's a mental disease and we need leaders to recognize this and stop forcing it on our military services.

I don’t really care what homosexuality is. It is none of business.

The boos did not come when the man announce he was gay. The boos came after he asked his question. And they were only two or three people that boo at most. The president and the media are doing everything they can to divide this nation with a lie.

“It is not so much a case of “queer supporter” and more of a case that I am a great believer in personal liberty...”

Your stand implicitly holds up a gross sexual deviation as normal. It dismisses the revulsion most people experience when in inescapable proximity to it. The tolerant opinions most Americans have traditionally held with respect to homosexuality are (whether or not they realize it)conditional upon it being a PRIVATE point.

If it is done between two consenting adults, and does not harm anybody else, then what is the problem? One can make a moral judgement, and still acknowledge that liberty allows people to do something.
