Michael Steele: Rick Perry’s in-state tuition plan for illegal immigrants "very conservative"
The Daily Caller ^ | 09/30/2011 | Nicholas Ballasy

Posted on 09/30/2011 1:51:37 PM PDT by martosko

Former Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele told The Daily Caller that it was a “very conservative” decision for 2012 Republican presidential candidate Gov. Rick Perry of Texas to give in-state college tuition rates to illegal immigrant students.

“I think it is actually fairly conservative to look at, very conservative, to look at solving the problem in a way that empowers people, gives them opportunities to get out of harms way — fiscally or whatever — and to move the state forward,” he told TheDC during an interview in Washington on Friday.

What idiocy.

Every little handout to illegal and you can say they didn’t come here for that. So why GIVE it to them? Free healthcare, free schools, food stamps, jails etc...... billions of dollars stolen from the taxpayers annually, that is fine with you?

.....

BTW, insinuating someone is pro-Romney because they disagree with you should be a banning offense!

Hey Lawrence O’donnell you forgot “creepy liar! Creepy liar! Creepy liar!”

I shall add “Creepy liar! Creepy liar! Creepy liar!” There you go. I stand by my post. I will not back down. I am 100 percent correct about this fraud and you can call me any name in the book or any liberal person in the book and I will stand by EVERY post that I have typed. I will not back down from Perry is a fraud and disgusting human being who does not deserve to take a crap in the White House. I don’t vote for liberals or wanna be moderates. So the electorate better smarten up and get on board with conservatives Cain, Bachmann, Santorum or Palin.

I will cut and paste this comment. Thank you. "Rick Perry is a disgusting human being".

What ya'll don't get is that you are so over the top you actually make a case for Perry. If a reasonable person sees Perry he doesn't see a disgusting human being, he sees a guy who has been a good governor,he's ex-military and pro life. They see a guy who is pro military and a husband of one wife he met in kindergarten and the father of a couple of decent looking kids who aren't showing up on TV every five minutes doing something stupid.

So for a filthy creepy lying, disgusting human being, he actually seems like a pretty decent guy with a pretty decent family.

I didn't insinuate you were pro Romney because I know you are not. I stated Romney is the one who brought up that argument in the debate. It was meant to deflect from him and paint a picture in your mind.

Now it doesn't matter to you that Texas has spent hundreds of millions of dollars to secure the US/Mexico border and has actually had Texas Rangers in actual cross border shootouts with drug cartels. The same Ranger recon squads formed by Perry and paid for by Texas tax dollars. You simply swallowed Romney's line. Doesn't mean you support him and he doesn't care if you do, he just wants you to freak out about Perry. That is why he said it in a debate with 7 others grabbing for sound bites.

Bachman and Santorum are not serious, so scratch them.

Palin has said deportation would be inhumane and that she is for a path to citizenship. Her fortune is that she ran a state as far from the Mexican border as possible, so she never had to deal with the massive problem of the war going on at the border. Which also means she will need some educating on the subject.

Cain said just yesterday he was for a path to citizenship while calling Perry soft on securing the border. Well Perry has spent hundreds of millions more dollars than Cain to secure that border and Cain has never had to deal with the problem, but at least he is for a "path to citizenship".

lol.

Does giving yet more benefits to illegals discourage them from coming? Of course not. Plus you have probably bumped a few citizens out to make room for them.

I am sure that is fine, citizens are not nearly as important to you guys as illegals.

....

If I agreed we cannot build a wall and cannot deport them all... then the only other thing we can do is CUT OFF THE BENEFITS.

If you also oppose that, then you are PRO_ILLEGAL

Okay - so Perry goes along with whatever the Texas legislature comes up with and signs on. But then goes to the debate and says it's OK? Perry had the choice to say it wasn't right as many have said - he even called people who were opposed to it "heartless" - then he later recants. Yes, Perry has the choice and he holds the illegal immigration cards by saying it's illegal to be in the US without proper credentials. He's agreeing with the situation rather than speaking out against it - and - saying he can't do anything about it.

Just because I don't live in Texas does not mean I go along with the back bending of politicians to illegals.

And so you think that in Texas it's okay. Get Informed about how much illegal immigration is costing your state. But then perhaps you don't pay taxes in Texas.

No Perry is an ex Airforce captain who has been the Governor of Texas for 10 years, the reddest state in the union. He is also a lifetime member of the American Legion, pro life, pro gun, pro Israel, pro military and always has been. He has been endorsed in various elections by Bobby Jindal, Sarah Palin, Michael Reagan as well as Nikki Haley and various conservative Governors. If Perry is a fake he has fooled even those who know him best. Take another look.

And how, dose one show proof of paying taxes, when Texas has no income tax?

The law supported by Perry is nothing less than a message to illegal aliens that they’re not only tolerated, but welcome. It’s a message that we’ve thrown up our hands and surrendered.

Perry’s plan is disgraceful and immoral.

Sales tax is .0825%. That is what we all pay.

Property tax is another form of taxation in Texas. Rent or own you probably pay the homeowners property tax.

I've been sticking up for Perry and many of his stances and accomplishments quite a lot lately.

Michael Steele: Rick Perry’s in-state tuition plan for illegal immigrants "very conservative"

I cannot agree with that one.
