I seem to remember Gingrich a couple of election cycles ago saying that he would not enter the race because he felt he could get more accomplished for the cause of conservatism out of office than in it. That is when he launched American Solutions.

She may be thinking in that realm, which to some extent has its merits.

Many forget just how young a woman SP is! She can finish raising her family in AK, create projects/foundations, continue commenting on TV, writing books, whatever SHE wants for 8-12 years and still be plenty young - and a LOT more seasoned - IF she ever wants to run for POTUS. Holding that Office isn’t the be all an end all.

To my thinking, it IS a shackling job. After the SCOTUS decision in ‘00, a TV commentator spoke of how GWB’s life would never again be the same. Forget about the ‘prison’ of the White House, he’d never live another day of his life without SS just feet away. None of that suits a free spirit like SP who CAN accomplish an awful lot without giving up her own life.

Then why not declare, as he did, that this is her intention? I don't recall Newt doing this dance of the seven veils.
