Pretty good for first poll.
Everyone knows Barack Husein is President, not many know who Herman Cain is.
Herman Cain trails President Barack Obama by a mere five points in a head-to-head match up, according to a Rasmussen poll released Wednesday.
In a poll of 1,000 likely voters, 34 percent said they would vote for Cain, while 39 percent said they would vote for Obama. Fourteen percent said they would vote for another candidate, and 14 percent said they were not sure.
Of all the candidates polled in general election match-ups with Obama, Cain holds the president to his lowest percentage of the vote in the past month. No other candidate holds Obama to below 40 percent of the vote in Rasmussens September polling. Ron Paul had Obama at 39 percent, taking 38 percent of the vote in August, but in a poll released Wednesday, Obama now leads Paul by 10 percentage points: Forty-four percent to 34 percent.
Black voters break in favor of Obama in the poll, with 76 percent saying they would vote for him and just 3 percent saying they would vote for Cain. Twenty percent said they were not sure.

I ONLY!!! vote for pro-2A candidates.
Michelle Bachmann and Sarah Palin are both pro-gun.
Cain flunks the gun rights test.
Although Cain says he supports the Second Amendment, in the next breath he says he fully supports any and all state gun control/prohibitions.
That is like supporting federal rights for women and blacks, but allowing women and blacks to be slaves if the state laws permit them to be slaves.
I will not support any candidate who allows, and favors, individual states to outlaw guns, or to take away womens voting rights, or to allow slavery, or to prohibit free speech, etc. .

IF Cain becomes the front-runner the pile-on and tear-down will begin. I don’t think he will fare well.
Me? I’d vote for the black guy.
Whoa... did you see this? (Source: Drudge)
Yes we CAIN!
My take is that one could substitute virtually any Republican wannabe's name in these last few polls and one would obtain substantially the same results because Obama is crashing and whoever Rasmussen puts up against him last is the greatest beneficiary.
It is my hypothesis that the less we have the fear on the issue of electability the wider our scope to nominate a hard conservative. I take this as bad news for Romney, good news for Cain, of course, but also good news for Rick Santorum, Bachmann, and, yes, Newt Gingrich.

Does anyone know of a comment board where primarily blacks are discussing the merits of Cain vs. Obama? I think that would be an interesting read right now.
I figured he didn’t have a serious chance, but if this keeps up he’s going to become my guy!
Was it a shock because he is close? Or was it a shock because he had a great month, but is no closer than he was a month ago?
Obama Vs Mickey Mouse and Romper Room won’t get over 40%.
America Eff’ed up and has recognized it.
Darn it to Betsy, you beat me to it!!!
