Sarah Palin: ‘Is a Title and Campaign Too Shackle-y?’

Sheila Marikar

September 28, 2011

A Palin presidency: Too “shackle-y?”

That’s what Sarah Palin suggested on Fox News’ “On The Record with Greta VanSusteren” tonight, saying that she’s concerned jumping into the 2012 presidential race will muffle her message.

“Is a title worth it?” she asked, rhetorically. “Does a title shackle a person? Are they someone like me who’s maverick? I do go rogue and I call it like I see it and I don’t mind stirring it up in order to get people to think and debate aggressively.”

“Is a title and a campaign too shackle-y?,” she continued. “Does that prohibit me from being out there, out of a box, not allowing handlers to shape me and to force my message to be what donors or what contributors or what pundits want it to be? Does a title take away my freedom to call it like I see it and to affect positive change that we need in this country? That’s the biggest contemplation piece in my process.”

Palin expressed a concern about “being caricatured” if she runs, and asked again “whether a title is needed to make a difference or someone can be rogue, can be maverick, can be passionate about issues and can get people to think very wisely about issues.”...

She also had a running suit on for the interview.

You don’t know Sarah’s positions? Go to her Facebook page, and has covered virtually all topics.

BTW: how many women do you know who wear a ‘running’ suit to a television interview?

Could be too that she is telling us there is no one there who she can trust to build a team from the inside structure of the GOP RNC. She has to decide soon for some of the supporters who are getting stressed. Either way, a lot of people will be ticked off at first. The leftwingers will be celebrating in the streets as CNN follows every scene as a breaking headline. Be prepared either way.

She loves the adoration and spotlight like her Bollywood daughter. As far as conservative family values she seems more interested in the media attention, and her career. Her self-centers SSS is starting to show!

Tell me which politician wouldn’t trade places right now with Sarah Palin. She has 90 percent name recognition, which the gold standard for running for office. And, since when does a conservative complain about someone earning a career?

Oh piddlesquatch. She’s got a resonant political following now in the Tea Party, and ending up low in the RINO-packed GOP primaries wouldn’t change that.

So now it is finally admitted that Palin's appeal is so limited that she would get defeated by RINO's.

What would have happened in the general election if the Nomination Fairy had magically made her the GOP nominee?

Most of America is to the Left of so-called RINO's. In the general election, it would be another Christine O'Donnell fiasco.

But, according to Palin herself (listen to the interview video), she would "win" the Presidency if she ran. Many of her followers still believe that and always will.

That is the mystique that "Undefeated" Sarah Palin has that "Definitely Defeated" Huckabee can never have.

Even if she’s only thinking of something so mundane as future money, which she certainly isn’t.

In order to acquire the extra money of a single book sale for Bristol, Sarah Palin would have refused to sign her own books for you:

Bristol Palin with Special Guest Sarah Palin Book Signing Wednesday, June 29, 2011 5 p.m. Rotunda

Look at Rule Number 4.

"4. You must have a copy of “Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far” in order to purchase a copy of “America by Heart” and/or “Going Rogue” signed by Sarah Palin."

Sarah handled the “hobbits” comment very well. Funny.

She couldn’t say she was running but she was wearing a running suit.

How can anyone look at his debate appearances and not see that as evidence he was telling the truth about not planning to run? He got in to challenge the seemingly untouchable Romney but Perry's campaign was late to the game and he was not prepared. It's been unclear to me, since the first debate, whether his head and heart was in it. His getting worse in the debates, not better. That isn't the usual pattern for someone who wants to win.

Since I find no notation of your comments being sarcasm I am taking it that you believe Governor Perry's decision to run was about not winning but only to knock out Romney. Who is he trying to help WIN?

I am not able to follow your reasoning. I personally believe he has been 'running' since he wrote his book and went on a national tour. In spite of what he said to the contrary.

My wife spots these things. While Sarah couldn’t say it, she was wearing a ‘running’ suit in the interview. How many women dress in a ‘running’ suit for an interview?

Yeah I just wanted to make sure because it’s easy to forget that she was wearing a running suit even though you keep repeating it 5 million times.

Oh yes I remember the ‘days’ of Fred. Course while he ‘spoke’ wisely, I did NOT for one minute of that campaign believe he was really running to win... That is not to say had his ‘stroll’ into politics garnered him the nomination he would have rejected it. But it was already a known he was connected at the hip with old lord McCain....

But I would hardly compare the ‘days’ of Fred to the Perry campaign. So who is Perry helping out if not himself by running? No, I think Governor Perry convinced himself years ago his next win would be for president.

yeah but I bet even you didn’t expect him to be doing cheapo commercials for reverse mortgages after midnight. My point is that some people are just losers and aren’t doing it to help anyone.

Tell me which politician wouldn’t trade places right now with Sarah Palin. She has 90 percent name recognition, which the gold standard for running for office.

Actually, the name recognition is 98% in some polls.

I have pointed this out many times before but, here it goes one more time ....

High name recognition combined with high positives is a candidate's dream. We all know you. We love you! It is like being dear, old Great-Grandma at the family reunion.

Low name recognition combined with high positives is a candidate that has " The Big P " .... Pontential. Once you start doing well, you get noticed and the name recognition will follow.

High name recognition combined with high negatives is a disaster and the worst possible combination that you can have. The public knows you, the public has made up their minds about you and the public doesn't like you.

Casey Anthony, Nancy Pelosi, Jimmy Carter, Charlie Manson, Attila the Hun.

What do all of those folks have in common?

High name recognition combined with high negatives.
