Observation: Black Teens Thoughts on Herman Cain (Vanity)
September 27, 2011 | no dems

I'm a certified Social Studies teacher in Texas. I teach in a Public School that is predominantly Black (70%) with 25% Hispanic and 5% White/Asian. Today, I went out on a limb and told them that there was a possibility that in 2012 there would be two Black men running for President: Barack Obama (Democrat) and Herman Cain (Republican). Most of the students were non-committal or non-interested. But, the ones who were interested and somewhat informed, SHOCKINGLY, are excited about Herman Cain.

Of the aforementioned, I would say, it was 50% Obama and 50% Cain. The Obama support was tepid at best. But, without fail, the students who like Cain were enthusiastic about him, saying: "Cain, Cain, Cain," and someone in almost every class said: "Obama has not helped people get jobs."

Kids reflect their parents politics. I still say, Herman Cain would not get the majority of the Black vote, but he would take more votes from Zero than anyone else. The dissatisfied Black voters could vote for Cain and not feel guilty because they voted against a brotha.

As someone who actually watched the interview, I can tell you that the comment was a slam against the media and the way they cover the election. Palin had nothing but glowing praise for Cain.

But I do understand how you might find the whole thing upsetting since the last time she was interviewed she said some pretty nasty things about Señor Ricky the RINO — “crony capitalist.”

"He can win Iowa and be on the road to getting the nomination. Pawlenty is out and Bachmann is falling in the polls, so, Iowa is wide open."

Completely hypothetical but its certainly possible that Bachmann will drop out before Iowa. Cain seems to me to be her logical choice to lend her support to at this point as their positions seem to mostly line up and they don't seem to go after each other.

If I'm right and she supports Cain, her birth state will almost certainly follow and possibly a national Cain nomination, IMHO.

I contend that Obama is definitely more white than black. He is certainly not a black American. He grew up in Indonesia with his white mother, and then later in Hawaii with his white grandparents. He had to move to Chicago and join Rev. Wright’s church to explore his blackness. But he is a fraud.

Just sayin’. I’m not one for purity tests, but Zero ain’t one of the brothers.

I SO want to see him and Palin run together! Just to see them get their panties in a wad trying to not sound sexist and racist while trying to figure out how to call Republicans sexist/racists for actually nominating a woman and a black man!

"Sarah is so awesome isn’t she. She sure tells it like it is. Brilliant women. Can’t wait until she announces."

I am beginning to think we will be seeing post like your's even on Monday, November 5, 2012 and then of course they will start again on Wednesday, November 7, 2012.

This she used for an excuse to flog some obscure poll showing her within 5 of Obama.

Didn't she just very recently proclaim that "polls are for strippers and cross-country skiers"? So why is she even bringing up the subject of polls if these are insignificant? More than a tad hypocritical I'd say.

Clinton always said he was the first black President.

If I was black, I would have been offended by that statement!

Yes. Rather ironic I’d say. I think 0bama dopped the pie, so nobody gets anything.

This is the most amazing 6 minute summary of his whole campaign, including the health care confrontation with Bill Clinton, and a scathing critique of the lack of business experience in the current administration, but at about 4 1/2 to 5 minutes in the video, he talks about talking to people in the black community and the black church:

You may be on to something in regard to that part of the whole election, but the bottom line is that he is absolutely far and away the best person in the race at the moment.

I heard someone on the radio yesterday, saying that Obama’a native language is “Aloha” ... ha ha

James Monroe also died on the Fourth of July, but a different year, and he wasn't involved in drafting the Declaration of Independence.

Abraham Lincoln and Charles Darwin were born on the same day--February 12, 1809. Of course Darwin was never President. John F. Kennedy, C.S. Lewis, and Aldous Huxley all died on the same day.

It would be pretty funny for a commercial talking about the great day when we had our first half-white president sworn-in...
