Barbara Bush phones Chris Christie's wife to beg him to run for White House
Daily Mail UK ^ | September 27, 2011

As speculation brews about a possible Chris Christie bid for the White House, several big names are joining a chorus to persuade him.

Among them is former First Lady Barbara Bush, who recently phoned the New Jersey governor's wife Mary to convince her that the Christie family would be just fine in the White House despite the intense attention, a source told the New York Post.

Mrs Bush joins political heavyweights like former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger in asking that he give the presidency a shot.

Despite insisting he won't run, Governor Christie is making the most of the speculation, travelling the country this week raising money for Republicans, rubbing elbows with rainmakers and speaking at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.

Gov Christie's three-state tour is bringing him to Missouri, California and Louisiana - trips paid for by each state's GOP organization.

It will also bring home a lot of money for the New Jersey state Republican Party, which will see proceeds from three fundraisers the governor is hosting.

Talk of Christie entering the 2012 race for the White House ramped up this weekend, pushed in part by Texas Gov.

Rick Perry's shaky debate performance last week, as well as his loss in the Florida straw poll to Godfather’s Pizza mogul Herman Cain on Saturday.

While Christie's advisers swatted down the notion that he was reconsidering over the weekend, former Gov. Tom Kean, a longtime Christie mentor and confidant, stirred the pot on Monday.

It might be both. Mrs. Bush isn’t the person that I thought she was.

I am convinced that every single Bush mentioned would sooner pull the lever for RAT bastard commie pig 0dumb0 in Nov 2012,

Well not to start an argument but, GHWB did say he found a new son in Clinton, and I think GW said he found a new brother.

President Bush and his father respected the office of the Presidency.

George W. Bush faced more national crisis than any President since Franklin Roosevelt or maybe even Abraham Lincoln while in office.

Rush said yesterday the only reason the GOP elite are trying to push a NE Republican RINO is their boy Mitt can't win.

strange though...
Both (P/R) are fmr. 'rats, they (?) pick one
(P)RINO over the other (R)RINO

I just wish this old bat would go away or help the illegal alien governess take care of the great, great grand kids.

I remember the first time I saw her on TV in 1980. I thought Barbara Bush was Bush41’s mother.

Fortunately, she's lived long enough that her age finally caught up with her face.

Hasn't the Bush family done enough damage to the GOP?

The Bushes continue to reveal themselves further as the New

President Bush and his father respected the office of the Presidency.

Yes, but what seals their reputations is their utter cluelessness about domestic policy and concerns. "Out of touch" didn't even begin to describe Poppy and GW was only marginally more aware because of his "wild" youth.

Evidently they are getting afraid a true conservative is going to make it and they all are going to lose their own private government.
We need someone to help us get rid of the cancer that has griped Washington, DC. We need to get our country back from these people.

Actually, Christie would probably help the conservative GOP candidates by splitting Romney’s votes.

Who would have guessed that Barbara Bush was actually a conservative operative?

Bush family is partly behind the push for Cristie.

That says plenty. The Bush family do not understand how tainted the family name is in politics — especially in fly-over country.

Next!

shield, my Hub has tried to convince me that the Bush’s were never out for OUR best interests as Conservatives. Well, he FINALLY got it through my thick skull. Ever since Grandma made that UN-FUNNY remark about Sarah Palin staying in Alaska I have lost any respect I ever had for her. She needs to go to bed and shut her pie hole! Nobody with the sense of a ball of hair gives a rats arse what she thinks!!
