Agreed. If all of the “really good plans” never veered off course, then I suppose they wouldn’t be problems. In any event, the politicians still maintain that the income tax portion is “voluntary,” so I suppose we need never worry about the tax rate!/sarc

For the last 12 years I’ve been watching the conservative message being lost in a sea of disingenuous liberal soundbites.
The average voter does not delve into the world of history, psychology, human-nature and politics in depth. They are snagged by the five-second clip, the bumper sticker or the catch-phrase. The younger voters are particularly susceptible to this. (This is how democrats are able to get away with out-right lies.)
One of the reasons that the idea of the Fair Tax has stalled is that it simply takes too much time to explain. It doesn’t catch the attention of these (idiots who have no right to be voting in the first place) people who don’t pay close attention.
Herman Cain has the ability to snag these people. Sadly, they are becoming the majority as public schools and parents fail to educate the generations. (’hope and change’ anyone?)
So Cain snags people’s attention with the clip, then it’s up to the individual to delve deeper into the details, if they are so inclined. A large number of people will follow if the soundbite makes since to them.
If you don’t like it, then take us back to the days when only landowners could vote. That would eliminate a lot of the riff-raff.

I don’t think Cain has a chance in the world to win the nomination. I do, however, think he has a shot at VP if he makes a good showing.
I probably said that Romney is the frontrunner, which he is. If you consider that something nice, so be it.

My original candidate was Gingrich, then briefly Bachmann, now Perry. I horse-race politics, because that’s what interests me. By understanding the horse-race, you understand the issues.

I’m not a Romney guy, so I need no convincing. I am a little surprised Cain endorsed him, but it shows an ability to compartmentalize that I think is very good.
Cain has potential VP written all over him. Let’s hope he makes a good showing to position himself, even if it is VP for Romney.

I’ll do my best to make good on that, too. My dad was in the same lot a few years back, and has retired now, too. Some years we paid close to 50% between state and federal, on top of everything else. If he had earned less, he’d have actually had more, I’m sure you know the feeling.

That is not “pushing the deviant agenda”. This a practical retail politics. No conservative is going to win a seat as dog-catcher using this kind of language.
Sexual deviancy is a mental illness. It’s cause is not physical. People are not born deviants. It is learned. Sometimes through trauma. Pedophiles are not “born that way”. Neither are those into bestiality or necrophilia. Neither are homosexuals. It is all learned behavior.

Should Sarah opt to not become the nominee, I will go with Herman as the second choice. But he’s a distance second and dramatically better choice than the two stooges (Romney and Perry).

We are in agreement there. However, in order to get this country back around to understanding that fact, I don’t think the rhetoric can be laced with phrases like “sex perverts” “homos” “fags” “queers” etc. I believe more subtlety is required.
