Palin is not a candidate. One doesn't need to pick their candidate in September.

If she runs. How about we focus on what is and wait to see what shall be?
If Palin gets in, it totally changes everything. However, at this point she is not in.

Thanks for thread AB. Israel still lives. PA is showing its true self at UN

[I think his health would become a big issue if he became a serious contender.]
Could easily be neutralized by picking a capable VP candidate.

I hear Cains got a 9-9-9 plan and Im wary of any kind of VAT tax because, did I mention? anytime you get the politicos running stuff it gets messed up....I think I mentioned this. You start putting up a national sales tax, and I know its based on elimination of the income tax, soon enough a Dem will get back into power and then well have an income tax AND a VAT tax so Cains got some splaining to do.I would add that even if a VAT tax does replace an income tax I would still be against it.
As somebody who has worked hard, saved some money and paid my income taxes for 35 years, a VAT tax would put a higher tax burden on my spending when I retire.
To: Fishtalk
Im wary of any kind of VAT tax because I used to feel the same way about any new tax, but now I realize that blaming the tax for the actions of the tax law writers is like blaming the gun because a bad guy used it to commit a crime. And the real problem is that the US Government spends $4.00 for every $2.20 it brings in.
I had a tag-line that went, "The only fair tax is the tax that taxes you and not me." I learned that the first day of the tax course I had to take in order to get an Accounting degree from the University of Illinois. And it is even more true now.

Well, my remark about Cain wasn’t based on a straw poll or on any poll (and may well be wrong)
But, I just think that Cain has suddenly become the flavor of the day because of his down to earth charm, good on the debate, has a plan and is obviously a nice guy.
However, once he’s taken seriously, the you know what will hit the fan with every negative thing he’s ever done and people will start expresssing ‘grave concern’ about his health and all that blah, blah, blah.

I saw a small part of the Tavis Smiley segment, and it looks like he just wrote a book about education in the black community, or just adopted some back education charity/government program, and now Tavis is convinced that we can fix education in a vacuum. Black kids don't need a daddy who lives with them, or a decent neighborhood, or a stable environment, just more money spent on the schools. That’ll fix it.

What candidate has the political background to clean up that mess?
Should be easy - just playback the RAT talking point - "Hussein left us a mess far worse than we could have imagined. Little Barry drove the car off the cliff after we gave them the keys in 2006 and again in 2008."
Should be good for four years of absolute GOP leadership in all branches.

I thought Cain was smart by putting his health problems out there ... and knocking Obamacare in the process.
He can’t be blindsided by the health thing now, but he can be hurt.

Cain has the policies to back him up, if you care to take a look.

My PERSONAL feelings are Palin will NOT enter the race this time. She can be far, FAR more valuable to us as a king maker and a fund ra8iser as she makes the rounds spreading the Conservative message.
I also believe should she enter she would lose. It is simply not enough for a candidate to have strong support from their own Party only.

I have no problem with that. Anything but the Perry-Romney-Stantorum-Hustman "politics as usual" party Establishment bots. All any of them want to do is tinker with the system not fix it.
Palin would FIX not mend the system. So would Cain.
I would vote for Newt or Ron Paul before I would vote for any of the professional political panders

Yep. And they will do the same to Palin and every other Conservative canidate.
The Progressive Fascist political machine is not going to go quietly. 2012 is going to be a vicious nasty negative campaign by the Left. It all they can do, they have nothing to run on.
