Great question....a lot of things have changed here at FreeRepublic lately. It’s too bad, honestly.
I remember the days when folks were outing the media for the Bush Vietnam memos. It was awesome, exposing liberals at every turn. Now if you dare to say you would vote for someone like Romney if it was him vs Obama, you’re threatened as a zot. Bizarre behavior.

Exactly!!! This used to be my primary place to get the latest and best information. I was VERY impressed with the adult sharing and cooperative effort to get to the TRUTH.....and really work TOGETHER!
;-(
In some ways, that has been replaced with little more than sophomoric name-calling.
I, too, use to enjoy FR and visted frequently. But, I found out a few months ago, if you were not a Palin worshiper, then you were not welcomed here anymore. It is very sad !!
I will support anyone that is able to defeat Obama. The attacks on Chris Christie, that I have read on here today, is very troubling to me. To win the WH back, we need a candidate that will attract independent voters...and that seems to escape the good old gang here.
Before I disapear again, I leave the following from Chris Christie which makes a lot of sense to me and why I support and hope he will enter the race ---
Christie suggested to an audience at New Jersey's Rider University that the current GOP candidates are not answering the public's appetite for real leadership.
"I think what the country is thirsting for, more than anything else right now, is someone of stature and credibility to tell them that and say, 'Here's where I want us to go to deal with this crisis,'" Christie said.
Christie continued: "The fact that nobody yet who's running for president, in my view, has done that effectively is why you continue to hear people ask Daniels if he'll reconsider and ask me if I'll reconsider."
Uh, more than "threatened".
Many people don't discuss conservatism here much anymore because you never know what will be deemed Politically Incorrect from day-to-day.
Some flip-flops I don't mind, like the more firm anti-illegal-immigration stance since the early days, but it's funny to hear people throw the term "RINO" out there without stopping to think of what it means. Heck, the "Republican" platform doesn't include eliminatino of the Department of Education, but I bet many think that a RINO would be in favor of keeping it.
