provides yet another incentive for people to come here illegally

How many Mexicans do you really think know or care about instate tuition? That "incentive" crap is just that...a bunch of crap!

They come for the welfare benefits...not a college education!

Just nonsense. Get over it and give up the tattletales. We have a country to get back, and nanby pamby babies who don’t get everything they want are playing right into the media’s hands. There is NO candidate who will please ALL conservatives, and trashing the only two in the race thus far does NO good in the long term.

Get your head out of your a$$

ROFL...Well, you are not the "smoothest debater," either.

Sorry, I don't read it as you, and I'd rather just leave it at that.

Any fool knows they're coming for benefits...but instate tuition is NOT one them! It's laughable to suggest it!

Trust me, we would be a lot better off if more of them were in colleges...more are in gangs than in college!

Mitt won the debates — are you supporting him for president?

Providing instate tuition is somehow going to solve all of our woes with mexican children joining gangs? That’s somehow going to incentivize them to now go to college vs. joining a gang?

That’s just flatly ridiculous... I didn’t ever suggest they were coming solely for instate tuition - it is laughable to suggest THAT! Instate tuition is just another part of the package that we shouldn’t offer to anyone not here legally.

How about we encourage legal US citizenship and not reward illegal border hopping in any way (including providing instate tuition). Maybe that way the irresponsible parents would have to pay a price for doing this to their children.

I thought we were for personal responsibility here.

Maybe the illegals (most of them mexicans) could attempt to pull themselves up by the bootstraps and fix their own mess in their home country - or is that just asking too much?

Who said it does?

Texas is not the only state that does it!

Where does your state stand on it? How many illegals do you have? Is there a law against them getting instate if they meet the other criteria?

I'll be waiting for your answer.

The only other chink in his armor is his support for a law he signed which allowed for non-citizen children domiciled in Texas without immigration documentation to be considered Texas residents for the purposes of paying college tuition. From the boos in the crowds it was apparent that most Republicans nation-wide do not support this. Nonetheless, Perry explains very clearly and carefully why he signed what was a veto proof bill passed with four “no” votes out of 183 Texas legislators, with Republicans in firm control of both chambers.

But here’s what Yankees like Michelle Bachmann, Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum don’t get. Texas is not the only state that has done this. New Mexico and California have as well. Not surprisingly, Arizona is the only state with an actual border with Mexico that hasn’t. In addition to Arizona, only three other states prohibit in-state tuition for children with undocumented immigration status. However, in addition to Texas, New Mexico, and California, eight other states specifically allow it. These include Kansas (passed with a Republican supermajority in both houses), Nebraska (non-partisan, but with a supermajority of members who were otherwise Republicans), and Utah (again, with a dual supermajority of Republicans), New York (split control), Oklahoma (Republican House and even split in the Senate), as well as Illinois, Washington, and Wisconsin (Democratic simple majority in both houses).

Now you may be thinking to yourself, if only four states have prohibited state universities from considering undocumented students as residents, and eight have specifically permitted it, what about the other thirty-eight? They have not legislated on the matter at all. What is not prohibited is allowed.

Ex employee of mine moves into a rental house. He receives a envelope addressed to a Latino female...senorita mexicano.

He’s opening his mail, and opens this one by accident. Inside was one of those EBT cards with a phone number to call for questions, and to verify current amount available. Curiosity got the best of him. He called the number to check the amount available. 7 grand was available. seven thousand dollars. $7000.00

When he told me, I didn’t believe him. He pulled the EBT card from his wallet. Put his cell phone on speaker, and dialed the number on the back of the card. I heard it with my own ears. $7000.00 was available on Senorita Mexicano’s EBT card.

Unbelievable. Meanwhile, Perry adds to their list of benefits with the privilege of instate tuition for illegals. He justifies his instate tuition with (paraphrased) ‘well, it’s better than having them on welfare for the rest of their lives. Yes, he said this during the debate.’

What Senor Perry misses is that illegals should not be eligible to receive welfare, foodstamps, free housing, free healthcare, etc, in the first ‘daggum’ place.

It’s no wonder they are all scrambling to get here as fast as they can...they’d be fools not to. But the real fools are American CITIZENS who pay the taxes which supports this crap.

There is no way Perry can argue, (without lying) he is opposed to illegal immigration. Not when he attempts to justify why he supports instate tuition for illegals. That dog won’t hunt, Gov Perry.

Note: Gov Perry is also opposed to Arizona’s illegal immigration law. He’s says it’s just not right for Texas.
Well Gov Perry, when it comes to illegal immigration, what exactly do you think is right for Texas? Providing them with even more benefits than they already have?

As one more example of "bighearted" Perry's suckup, he is not only handing out in-state tuition to illegals, he put $7000.00 on their EBT cards---no questions asked.

Thanks for the realtime report.

This conman Perry must have a real sweet deal with Mexico----in exchange for financing border-crossers with tax dollars. Betcha dollars to tacos----mucho of those EBT cardholder kickback to him, as well as being Perry voters.

Perry's tax-subsidized illegals are the voting blocs Mexico needs here to act as pressure points to tap into billions in US foreign aid.......AND "somebody" is getting a cut.

============================================

That steady stream of illegals pouring into Texas tells me native-born Texans don't have much say in Senor Ricky's unbroken string of re/elections. Senor Ricky gets away with mucho BS in Texas. Cattle country doesn't demand veracity...or much else...from its elected officials.

Perry's ongoing suckups to illegals raise serious questions about his curious string of unbroken election wins.

QUESTIONS PERRY SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO ANSWER

<><> Have you made deals with illegal aliens (1) to exchange campaign cash and votes for state freebies, (2) to use your office for US govt handouts in exchange for votes?

<><> Did you promise illegals tax paid-free education, EITC, EBT subsidies. welfare, food stamps, UI, SS, SSI, healthcare, sub-prime mortgages, subsidized bank loans in exchange for votes?

<><> Do you know this is a felony?

<><> Do you know which identity illegals use to register to vote for you?

<><> Do you know illegals who qualify for Texas in-state tuition may also be eligible for state aid?

<><> Do you know that ‘state aid’ to illegals is paid for by American citizens?

=================================================

Gov Perry IS opposed to Arizona’s illegal immigration law but he says not in texas----b/c it’s just not right for Texas.

Well, of course we all knew that---- even as he stood on the Orlando stage---and lied through his teeth.

Perry is the most practiced conman in US politics---and there are quite a few.

That was about to be my answer to you, I doubt the MN legislature has passed legislation specifically allowing it, but Minneapolis/St. Paul being more-a-less sanctuary cities if not by legislation then in practice for sure. Most likely everyone in academia here in MN would turn a blind eye to allowing the practice.

Regardless of that, the point I have been making still remains. It is more pertinent in Texas than it is in MN since Texas is a border state with the country we have the lion’s share of illegal immigration issues with. Personally I don’t think it should go on in any state in the US. We need to make the illegals’ life more difficult so they don’t feel welcome - so that they leave. If they want to be here that badly, then they can apply for citizenship legally and follow the process. They can also apply for asylum as/if needed.
